Well, what if the tumour's brain itself has slightly different properties from normal brains, thus making tumour brain so resilient. Also, could the study of the tumor's brain have in some way contributed to mathusalization?

Now I may be remembering this incorrectly, but in part 1 her brain surviving for hundreds of years was considered to be an unexplained surprise. So, could it be possible that the tumor properties of Gally's brain allowed it to survive as long as it did?

I just completed a playthrough of an old game- shin megami tensei 2, and couldn't help but notice the various similarities it had with part 1 of gunnm. Similarly, I felt like shin megami tensei 1 (the prequel) had an akira-like feeling in the story.

In an ideal gunnm live action movie series, the first movie should only tackle the first 2 volumes and should be about ~2 hours long. That gives the movie 2x the time that the OVA had for the same material, and would not feel very cluttered.
