I think the big eyes should deepen the doll impression.
Ido treats her as such at first, and she begins to rebell.

But if you look at her face i think they editet her headform too, the actress actual shape looks a bit diffrent to me.
Probably the whole head is CGI.

First i thought omg those eyes, but after i watched it, i thought, yes they fit.
Her eyes are big in the Manga. If she had normal human eyes she would look less Alita.
As i watched pics of the actress i thought she doesn't look like Alita, but now withe eyes i say, yes thats she.

The smile of the assassin looks like the smiles of elf und zwölf, and im pretty sure Alita hasn't done it, if so she had her good reasons.
