Unkillable, indeed.
Re: Gunnm - Mars Chronicle 023 (part 2) Is out!
I won't trouble myself to read this since I already have seen the raws, but thank you anyway. I bet Muster is the puppet master behind the necro soldiers since Kishiro is so fond of him, however I'm dropping this manga until "The adventures of the evil baron Muster" finally reach an end, I am sick tired of seeing that bastard, I want to see Alita! The Alita, not that toddler Yoko, so someone woud be kind enough to PM me when that occurs? You perhaps, Sergio? (LOL)

I hope not, also I could pm you when adult alita comes back, that's if I resume this series in a couple of years down the linekamugin wrote:I won't trouble myself to read this since I already have seen the raws, but thank you anyway. Re: Gunnm - Mars Chronicle 023 (part 2) Is out!
Also, I think it's safe to say battle angel alita, is the only manga we know where the main character doesn't get all or a lot of the spotlight and other gets it instead. Whether that's bad or good depends on the character and the reader as well.kamugin wrote:I won't trouble myself to read this since I already have seen the raws, but thank you anyway. I mean the Alita quest (18 chapters long) was another arc I enjoyed that Alita didn't star in. Also personally I think Yukito is more interesting in building the lore of the Alitaverse more than anything else at least that is how I see which I admit I like reading lore that was one of the main appeal of battle angel alita last order for me, but for me to really enjoy that kind of thing I would need a lot of chapters.
Re: Gunnm - Mars Chronicle 023 (part 2) Is out!
This seems to be a contradiction of what you said to me: "That manga is only a shadow of what it once was." "I'm going to going to put it on hiatus."00_unit wrote: I mean the Alita quest (18 chapters long) was another arc I enjoyed that Alita didn't star in. Re: Gunnm - Mars Chronicle 023 (part 2) Is out!
Hmm, For Mars Chronicles I still think that, as I think this series is inferior to Last Order and the first battle angel Alita, but for last order i did mention I enjoyed it despite many people not enjoying. In addition the way his building lore in Mars Chronicles isn't as interesting as before in Last Order. Also I am still putting this series on hiatus as well.kamugin wrote:This seems to be a contradiction of what you said to me: "That manga is only a shadow of what it once was." I'm not sure this "digression" is all that different from when there was a whole volume about Caerula's backstory. I found that a bit tiresome to read the first time, and probably would have found it interminable if I was reading it real-time. But I've appreciated it a bit more going through it subsequent times and so I'm holding out patience for this.
Besides, we are dancing around some important enigmas. Where does Alita come from? What's her connection with the royal family? How does Panzer Kunst fit into all of this? How is that going to play into the "present"?
"Alita - Princess of Mars" could be an interesting outcome. Not sure present-day Alita would have much truck with that. But it might explain the Künstler's interest in her. I think they have their own political games.
And, if we're eventually going to get to a rich, complicated, and intricate political and martial plot on present day Mars, I think all this backstory might be needed.

Re: Gunnm - Mars Chronicle 023 (part 2) Is out!
It was indeed tiresome in spite of Caerula being a charismatic character, now it is all over again with the difference that Muster is as pleasant as a kick in the balls with an iron boot.jjaquinta wrote:I'm not sure this "digression" is all that different from when there was a whole volume about Caerula's backstory. Some people are unable to see divergent opinions. Coincidentally, they are always preaching democracy. By "democracy," obviously, they mean the right to agree with them and their equals. The great example is their unconditional support to great democrats like Chavez and Maduro, to start with.kamugin wrote: While many others are driven by inertia
In short, they agree with what Millôr Fernandes, a Brazilian writer, once said: "Democracy takes place when I give the orders and you follow; dictatorship takes place when you give the orders and I have to follow."
The fact that Millôr was exactly (and ironically) talking about them is irrelevant.

I actually find more interesting the information we are getting , in the back ground. The martin treasure , the states before the one Alita is going to act ( hopefully soon ) , Alita's mother ( I really hope no ) .
I see Muster more a tool for exposition dumping than a protagonist of a story.

Well to be honest Yukito did said Mars Chronicles is the story he really wants to tell the most since he has a plan that he personally finds really good. Some people might criticise him for enjoying the series as an author rather than a readers perspective. Look even though I did said it's inferior to the previous work so far, in the end its yukito's work and even though I personally don't like it as much the other series (not hate per se). it is his decision where he wants the story to progress and although I disagree with it, I accept it.jjaquinta wrote:I'm not sure this "digression" is all that different from when there was a whole volume about Caerula's backstory. Nevertheless you did enjoy the vampire arc and wow, what a strong hostile feeling towards Muster, understandable but at the same time a good joke LOLkamugin wrote:It was indeed tiresome in spite of Caerula being a charismatic character, now it is all over again with the difference that Muster is as pleasant as a kick in the balls with an iron boot.jjaquinta wrote:I'm not sure this "digression" is all that different from when there was a whole volume about Caerula's backstory. Nina from Berserk, so pointless, weak and boring there was nothing to add to story with that stupid whore, and they gave more emphasis for her in that abysmal 2016 anime. Fans of Berserk never see that 2016 anime EVER it should have never existed

I don't usually compare series, but sometimes I compare characters not writing.
Re: Gunnm - Mars Chronicle 023 (part 2) Is out!
Well, by my side, I do compare series. I haven't dropped this Martian arc - and Gunnm consequently - because I have an emotional attachment to the series. I even named my daughter after Alita, you know. Right now I remember a good series I was reading, Vinland Saga, and when it reached the arc that the very readers named "Farmland Saga", I dropped it for good. I don't know what the heck the author was thinking or trying to do (name it plot building or creative experiment if you want) - and I didn't care, manga is meant for enjoyment, not annoyance and this is the only thing I am getting from Gunnm nowadays (plus some wear in this forum because I dare to criticize the series).00_unit wrote: Nevertheless you did enjoy the vampire arc and wow, what a strong hostile feeling towards Muster, understandable but at the same time a good joke LOLthat is a pretty original dialogue ROFL. Man, I ask you how can I not HATE Muster? Or putting it in other perspective, the HUGE screen time he is getting?! What we had so far in this lame Martian arc? Two chapters of adult Erica, a teaser fight between her and Alita and then, Muster, Muster, Muster, only Muster! Is he Kishiro's dildo?!00_unit wrote:Nevertheless you did enjoy the vampire arc and wow, what a strong hostile feeling towards Muster, understandable but at the same time a good joke LOLthat is a pretty original dialogue ROFL. Think about it in another way, Kishiro could be telling us Erica's past, her 200 years of struggle to build her hate towards Alita and reach the mastership level she has now, this would be freaking awesome! Instead, Kishiro choose to tell us about some treasure hunt by a pirate of the sands - I realized it now, this arc is a pirate story, Muster is the very stereotype of Captain Hook.
Once I heard that you may speak another language, but you can only curse in your own, so I shout now: VAI TOMAR NO CÚ, KISHIRO!!!

I know you criticise the series but I'm impressed you are not dropping Mars Chronicle as you tend to drop series easily like hxh, and vinland saga(despite many people calling it the new berserk). I'm losing it over the half chapter release and how yukito skips an issue after releasing part 2 of a chapter (I'm amazed people still sees that pattern of him skipping an issue). I theorise the best way to enjoy battle angel alita is by letting chapters stack up and read it volume by volume.kamugin wrote:Well, by my side, I do compare series. I mainly enjoy Noblesse (due to its unique 2 main characters), Kubera and hunter x hunter as my ongoing series at the moment.
Re: Gunnm - Mars Chronicle 023 (part 2) Is out!
This is a guess, but I'm realising you hate Muster, because he is stealing the spotlight from the true stars of the story, Alita and Erica. The fact he deviates from those two makes you quite upset and the fact he is overselling at his occupation of being a villain.kamugin wrote:Man, I ask how can I not HATE Muster? I don't mind spotlights getting stolen because I'm used to game of thrones having over 8 different characters stories getting told at once. Muster he's better than captain hook but I still know what you mean I see it more as Indiana Jones at the moment with finding lost treasure using clues and you know the rest except Muster is a villain.
I admit I still like this site a lot that's way even though I'm dropping Mars Chronicles I'm still reading comments and replying as well.
