GLO 109 translation WIP

Post by ashod »

P1
Mbadi: "Regrettably, the tournament was ruled 'No contest' when all fighters perished in a mysterious explosion."
Mbadi: That's my scenario.

P2
Yajiniiku: M…Mbadi…
Yajiniiku: Is…Isn’t that a bit too much…?

Mbadi: Now now.
Mbadi: Did you have something to tell me President/Chairman

Yajiniiku: In…Indeed I can understand that their (her teams) victory crushed the honor of the big countries…but…they did fight well…and I was honestly moved by their performance…

Mbadi: (What’s happening!? The “unanimous system” is supposed to censor the considerations of the people of Jeru and thus it should be impossible for them to go against my plans!?)

P3
Yajiniiku: To…to feign an accident to cover their victory in this tournament…I…I really think that’s unfair!!

Announcer: This…This isn’t an image from “Combat TV”!!
It’s an image from the surveillance camera from the VIP seats/room…

Martial arts expert: To cover their victory!?
Wha…What a shameless thing!!

Gally: Now that’s an unexpected turn of events!!

Don Fua: Indeed

(the fact that the vip room image is seen by everyone and that the president is defending them is presented as a reinforcement by Gally and Don Fua. I translated by “turn of events”, but literally, Gally is saying “that’s unexpected reinforcements”)

Gally: Let’s use this moment to escape!!

Don Fua: I cannot comply.

Don Fua: There is a risk that ordinary people get mixed in. (I’m guessing the spectators)
We don’t have a choice but to settle things, right here, right now!!

P4
“Jeru, random residential area”

“The leaked images of the VIP room reached the monitors in Jeru”

Yajiniiku: T…This isn’t something the Captain Mbadi I know would do

Jeru inhabitant: Aren’t these images we shouldn’t be seeing?

Jeru inhabitant: What do you think?

Jeru inhabitant: Like the President said.

Jeru inhabitant: Whatever the reasons, this is just too foul.

Mbadi: This matter was decided at the special LADDER congress…

Mbadi: Why didn’t you express your opposition at that time!?

Yajiniiku: I…I wonder as well…
I thought it was the right decision at that time…

Mbadi: (There’s no mistake)
(The “Unanimous System” is out of service!!)

P5
Mbadi: We don’t have the time to argue now!
Resume the “Damocles Sword’s” firing sequence!!

Control Pad: “President Authority confirmed”
“Firing sequence will be suspended”

Mbadi: You bastard!
What the hell are you doing!?

Yajiniiku: “The citizens of Jeru have the right to pursue justice and equality”… Wasn’t it the old you who taught us this?
Open your eyes already Mbadi!!

(Would appreciate some help with "Ieru". I don't know what it's referring to. I'm pretty sick maybe I just forgot some important thing.
It's referring to an organisation, but which one is it? how was it translated until now?)

It's referencing Ketheres, the space city. Jeru (Ieru) is the original Japanese name for Ketheres.

Thanks Burning Angel, I should've noticed. It's translated Jeru in the french manga ( I own everything that's been published), but my brain is very slow because of the flu...)

Meantime, let me interfere:

page 02
Mbadi: Now now??? (is that right?)
Mbadi: Did you have something to tell me, Chairman? (traditionally, Yajnik - that's the way we have been spelling his name - has been identified as Ladder chairman)

Yajnik: In…Indeed I can understand that their victory crushed the honor of the big countries…but…they did fight well…and I was honestly moved by their performance… (I cannot understand the usage of her teams here)

page 04
P4
Ketheres, random residential area” (name used)
“The leaked images of the VIP room reached the monitors in Ketheres" (name used)
Ketheres inhabitant: As the President said. (conjunction)

page 05
Yajnik: “The citizens of Ketheres have the right to pursue justice and equality”… Wasn’t it the old you who taught us this? Open your eyes already, Mbadi!! (name used; missing comma; is the usage of already correct here?)

I hope the flu will recede soon.

Well, I'm not fluent in japanese, but some translations are obviously obvious. For exemple...

page 24
Gally: Beetle-monk...

Gally: You and me, let's make sweet babies!
Gally: And since you've already got your hands full...

Don Fua: OH SHIT!!!

But happily for you, I'm not in charge of the script... :)
