I can work with TIM file images and also translate. However, for the TIM part, I have my limitations as I am still experimenting. I'm a Gunnm fan too so, this is not something I would not be familiar with.
If you are still looking for translators I am willing to dig in.
Let me know, Cheers!

Yes we are still in need of a translator (or proofreader).
The first translator who started it all has dissapeared after i started to code the tools and work out the games internals.
Since then a few have offered to help, but that ran dry pretty quick.
Probably because of the amount of text in the game.

So atm we are doing the machine translation route via www.deepl.com which gives some fairly coherent translations compared to google and others.
However it is far from perfect.

So if you are willing to donate some time into this project then by all means.
Everything is voluntary so no presure at all.
What we need is someone to go over the texts and look for anything weird.
It doesnt have to be 100% spotless perfect, but coherent and more or less correct.

As for the tools, for now take a look at this:
https://www.rippersanime.info/Gunnm_DEM ... P801_0.LDP
It's the demo version of the main script editor.
This is identical to the one i use to input the script, just crippled to prevent modifications.

For translation purposes, the "FlatFile Mode" button and "Show source" is probably the easiest way to check the scripts.
I've currenly done a little over 50% of the script already, but its rough around the edges in some parts.
The online translator has problems with gender like him/her/he/she etc for instance.

Now i also have a debug ISO in the works that displays both the english and japanese ingame.
So this way you can play the game and check the texts at the same time.
However this ISO has a drawback as i have to figure out a way for it to display more then ~500 character as it seems there is a hard limit.
Also this route misses quite a few lines as well as some interactions are skipped.

Anyway take a look at the editor and feel free to reply back if this is a project you want to help out with.

Thanks!

I've checked the link for the Demo of the Script Editor provided, and I am quite fascinated with this tool, this is very visual and simplified!
Although, it may take a few tries to familiarize all its functions.

Oh, I forgot to mention that, when I do translation work I also deep check up to the structure of the paragraphs in place. That way, I get a more precise translation/better idea of what is intended to be said.

Anyway, Yes ,I am interested to help out with this translation!

Just to let you all know, there is a discord!
See the viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1221 thread

Also PSXCraver, did you have some time to look at the tools?
Any questions?
Also, i made a new debug ISO that displays the raw text and translated text in one window.
Could be a nice addition to play the game and look at both texts.

Hi I have been following your Gunnm Project and both my wife and I played the Battle Angel Game all the way through. She is Japanese ^_^ so I was able to follow and she read the manga so she could explain any misunderstandings. We finished the game and loved every part of it.

If you want, maybe she could help translate the game. I would love to help because I would REALLY love to see this project completed and play this in English. Such a great game. One the PS1's BEST games, plus a Hidden Gem.

Her Email address is: Ladyastro@mail.com

I love what you all are doing with this project I believe it MUST BE DONE!
RESPECT!

Ok, good to know!

Yes, I've looked into the tools. So far, It is a lot more simple than expected to use.
Thanks for the tutorial it was a great help.

A debug ISO? I'll check it out.
I Will notify you what I think of it.

By the way, is proof reading still needed for the translation, or is it handle by someone else?

Proofreading is still needed for the entire translation.
I have gone over it 3 times now, but there are still errors.
Some small, some completely wrong translations.
It's the nature of machine translations.
But still most is coherent and readable.
And working with the manga alongside of it helps a lot :)
A lot of texts are literal copy's.

So yeah MP001-MP110 are the ones i translated and still need some good proofreading.

Hi there, thanks for offering your help.
As you can see i really need some extra set of eyes on the script.
So if you are willing to help proofreading the translations made that would be great!
Since you both played the game and know the manga that would help a lot.
I can set up an account to the editor where you can read the script so far and mark them ok or correct any mistakes.
The editor is easy to use, so if you are willing to spend some time on this project then by all means :)

YES WE WOULD LOVE TO HELP! Send me the link and we will both proof read it and make sure all the text is up to standard. Im a teacher and she is Japanese so we can figure this out :) 8)

Respect! We can't wait to see this get finished :good: & Play it all over again. The last part was ALOT of grinding on my part to get Gali strong enough to beat the last boss. I'm willing to do that all over again. Crushing those space bears on mars
