I'd been meaning to ask for an update. I check regularly and hadn't seen anything for a couple of months.
Thank you, it's always good to hear about the projects' progress.
I managed to check the new demo out, the day after you uploaded it.

Since I last tried it, I believe all of the conversation at Ido's is translated now?
It used to have a lot of the conversations missing. Also, the text for lift selection was missing, when selecting from certain floors.
The NPC's outside Ido's have translated text now too.
The streets didn't seem to have any translated text, except for the Ido scenes. Factory 33 didn't seem to have any translated text either.
I don't know about any other text in the game, as I didn't get past here. One of the Deckman kept repeating something to me, and I wasn't sure what it was :p
I think that was around half an hour of gameplay, if you explore everywhere.

Like I said previously, I've played through this many years ago. I used translation guides and read volumes as I played etc.
I even tried to copy text and its meaning/action on bits of paper that I could refer to, specifically for when selecting items etc.
But I definitely don't have the patience for this now :)

I'd love to see the project finished, it was great playing what I did, in English. Its so much more enjoyable

I can't translate and I'm not overly tech-savvy.
...I can barely use programs, let alone make the tools that you have :)
But I'd love to help in any way that I can.

I can only really offer my time.
Like, maybe if I'm shown how to find where translated and checked text goes, and how to input it.
I might be able to do that? ...maybe
I'd give it a go anyway :)

Also, I hope you have luck in finding another translator.

Ah yes, tranlationwise everything is been done on our discord channel.
I really should update the board more frequently, i know.
Or even better, i'll just open up the discord channel :)

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1221 <-- for the discord link

If you want to help, well we can always use beta testers :)
The translation is pretty much where the speed issue is.
Ideally we need more translators.

I'm currently hacking the game, writing programs for it and tweaking the translations scripts.

It's been awhile and for those not on the discord channel here is finally a new ISO of the game.
Due to the lack of translators i've resorted to machine translations.
But don't worry, it's a whole lot better then what google translate can spit out although not perfect.

For more info see the first post under notes.

Keep up the good work and let me know if I can help out graphically I'm decent with photoshop.

Hi.
I don't speak English or Japanese very well myself, but maybe you could contact AlitaArmy fandom? I think among this fandom there are those who want to try this game in English and maybe someone is ready to help even with this.

I appreciate your work and look forward to playing the game completely in English. Don't give it up, please.

A new version of the "Gunnm Martian Memory" project is out!
This new one has much more improved dialog compared to the previous one.
About 50% of the game is done, all scenes including the motorball arc have been finished.
So take a look at it and let me know what you think.

The project needs translators/proofreader but also BETA TESTERS.
So if you like the game, give some feedback on weird thing that you may have found.

The discord link is over here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1221

I've updated the post above
As for betatesting, the iso is shown in the discord as well as this forum: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1109
Instructions to install an emulator is over here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1104

50% of the game is translated, so you can play quite a big piece of the game.
If there are any obvious errors, report them on the forum or in discord.

For any help or questions, just email me or ask in discord/forum.

Thanks!

As long as you are using a modded PSX i see no problem with it.
Just burn the ISO, use the swap trick or have the modchip do its thing.

hi. thank you very much for this. One Question though, will you make a patch (like .xdelta, .ppf or something similar) when this translation got finished in the future? So we don't need to redownload the whole game all over again. Anyway, thanks again.

Thank you for your work, I'm a huge fan of Gunnm since the first publishing of the manga and it's been a long wait, with recurrent Google searches to finally found this :')

I also found this, maybe it will help!

Hi!, I'm new to this forum and I would like to thank you for this translation, I wanted to play this game for a long time and when I pushed myself to do it through the AI translation I found you were released an almost complete patch, so I gave it a try and it's pretty good!

But there is an issue that keeps the game from being finished, it gets stuck loading forever before the train scene where you control a young mercenary. I don't want to say more to avoid spoiling :)

I tried with 2 emulators and it's same, Duckstation and ePSXe Rearmed. I can continue playing it in japanese but I don't want, I prefer until you fix that.

If you need any more information, let me know.

Thank you very much!

Can you supply me a savegame or savestate from a little before you hit that spot?
A savegame will be preferable.
Or at least a savegame/savestate somewhat close to that spot.

There have been other reports of the game not loading certain things.
Its possible my patching the executable is what causes it.

Of and also, the emulators you used are they Android (ARM / Mobile) based?

Probably have the solution, see the discord.
A new ISO is being made.

Thanks.

Yeah, the train part is fixed, but another freeze is appearing when loading the battle with Den. It stays black forever.

Cheers.

I've released 0.14:
https://mega.nz/file/jIIynbqQ#Xh7LJ-2sG ... rtoqtqOwb0

One thing to note is that if you have a savestate (not savegame) you need to save the game first, load the new ISO then load the game from the memory card.
Or sometimes you need to just walk out the room/location and re-enter.
That fixes problems due to the cd layout changed between patches.
Savestates save the whole emulator memory and that can interfere.
Savegames save only a small game-specic part of the memory, the rest is reloaded freshly.

Again for quick diagnostic i need a savegame/savestate on the Den encounter.
Preferably one scene before the encounter.
ePSXe or Duckstations savestates/savegames are welcome

Hello;

Yeah, I always refresh the memory from the savestates by using a normal save, to start things fresh :)

I uploaded the savestate file to wetransfer, because I don't see a way to upload the file here.

I hope it is helpful for you.

Thank you so much for all the work, I love this game and the manga as well. I can't believe how I was so much time without reading it.

Ok thanks for the savestate although it did not work for me i could suse the image provided.
I cheated my way to that scene and had a black screen as well.

A few questions.

Your duckstation is the android version right?

You do not see an orange spinning loading chip when the screen goes black, right?
Since i cheated the game to get there my experience might be a little different.
If you don't have the spinning chip, then i know the location is correct and can investigate.

Thanks for helping out.
