Need help working TIM files

Post by PSXCraver »

A TIM file is an uncompressed Image stored within a PSX game. It's basically an Image with some special properties included.
Anyway, I am looking for anyone who has experience working with these, as I can work with them. But only, to a curtain degree, that is. Its like working with Paint. You replace the Japanese fonts with English.

Single CLUT's are generally simple to deal with. For example: The title screen of the game, where you can choose from two options. Those are single GLUT files. But, it's those Multi-CLUT ones that are difficult to understand how to work with. I found these in the battle system. I had never figured out how to make the colors work with the other CLUT's.

When I try to work on a 10 CLUT file, I get the first GLUT, but when I insert it back in the ISO, the rest of the GLUT's are all left blank, making the game glitch because of it.

There are many tools to scan for TIM files out there.

TIM2VIEW
is my personal favourite.

Anyone, who is interested to help.
Please, let me know.
There is always a way for everything.
