Good clue. In Glénat's page, it is written guerrier douille. Translating, it would be socket soldier.

I couldn't find any name of the soldiers in the VIZ version. So let us call them socket soldier =)Sergio wrote:Good clue. In Glénat's page, it is written guerrier douille. Translating, it would be socket soldier.

Re: PHASE 100 RELEASED!!
It is in volume 6, page 138.
The soldiers had their heads attached to sockets like lamps. Yolg (Figure Four's protégé) became one of them, transformad by Colonel Bozzle.

Re: PHASE 100 RELEASED!!
Wow, the complete edition has already started!!!
Here, have some cheerleaders to cheer you up mrhrhrhrhr. They will all be yours, once you're finished, I promise not...

Also I wonder how the story'll go on now.
Since Toji's kick was "recorded in history" I really doubt Alita will regenerate in the arena soon. It rather seems Sechs has to spoon the ZOTT finale and save earth, while Alita heads towards new adventures in the Tron-universe...

Re: PHASE 100 RELEASED!!
The names were corrected, but:
1. Skaramasakus remains the French version (Scramasax);
2. Yorg must be anglicized Yolg;
3. Lam Daka must be anglicized Lam Dao;
4. Zafal Takié is missing the accent;
5. Bigott Eisenberg must be anglicized Bigott Eizenburg;
6. Barzarlad must be anglicized Bazarld.
Items 2, 3, 5 and 6 are my fault, as I hadn't seen them before.

We reached a peace agreement fortunately. The Russians still have some nukes and we, by the other hand, have only bananas and coconuts to throw on them =PSergio wrote:You both have just started a war. I am a curious spectator.moooV wrote: I just didn't get your post. What reactions did you expect?

Hey, man, that's not fair. Have you forgotten our great politicians? Our congressmen are able to destroy any enemy system. Good idea, we can send all our politicians to them! But I think all the gulags are closed by now... Let's dispatch them to China instead =)Sergio wrote:Hey, man, that's not fair. I don't know is it a historical unspoken tradition, or just a national custom, but throughout the course of history only choice idiots and thieves were allowed to enter the parliament, become functionaries, or even presidents here.Sergio wrote:Hey, man, that's not fair. Damn, we've had a SLAVERY SYSTEM 300 years ago!
Ok, you can say that in Brazil slaves were imported from Africa at the same time period.
Here it was different - the slaves were of the same nation as enslavers, but they were from a lower class relatively to them.
It was called "A fortress right" and was as simple as that: a rich guy could go to the king/tsar and simply buy himself a vilage, or even a tiny town. All it's inhabitants, who were lower class than he was, were automatically enslaved by him due to the law - he could do whatever he wanted to them, even kill them for fun.
Right now our system isn't a democracy and capitalism. It pretends to be, but in fact it's feodal. Again, classes start appearing, and people are even talking about the possibility of a new fortress right appearing in the near future.
In fact, I'd rather prefer to live in a totalitarian Soviet Union instead of this pseudo-democracy, because the laws were the same for everyone there. They were strict, but they were for everyone. Here and now, they are only for ordinary people, unofficially.
I mean that everyone close to the "tsar" and his ruling party, or just functionaries with their families and relatives (SIC!!!) (99% of them are in the ruling party) are unofficially immune to law.
In theory, if they commit any crime, there should be consequences for them because "everyone are equal against the law - it's a democracy here". In reality, they will simply get away with everything, because the police will just cover it all up, or even blame the victims (SIC!!!).
The press and especially the TV are completely controlled by the Kremlin - officially it's the "freedom of speech, guarantied by the constitution", but in fact it's a hard censorship.
Moreover, information is censored not by the government, it's censored by the channels or newspapers themselves. It's as easy as that: you can publish whatever you want, but if something annoys serious guys, the taxes for your company will be increased several times.
This means that the publishers/tv channels have a tough choice: publish/show whatever they want and cope with giant taxes, or just censor everything and don't have tax problems. You can guess what's more profitable for their owners.
And the police... my god. In fact, they are legalized brigands, an oppression force, but not the guardians of law. If someone is a policeman, everyone else look at him with hate and despise, but fearing him at the same time.
And courts... damn. You can guess already. If there is a trial between an ordinary person and a functionary, guess how many chances of winning a beholder has - no matter how good advocate he hires.
Law doesn't exist in this country at all, although it's a "democracy", which even has an "opposition" to the ruling party. They are pocket clowns, but not an opposition.
It's not totalitarian, it's not democratic - it's feodal. It's that simple.
Also, statistically, we have the biggest levels of bureaucracy and corruption in the world.
Nothing is possible without a good bribe: you won't get a satisfactory medical care without putting the money into doctor's pocket, or you simply won't pass the policeman, who didn't like your face without putting money into your passport.
I can go on about it for hours, but, anyway, it doesn't worth it. You can guess the rest.
PS.
What I've meant was that Brazil is a democratic heaven compared to modern Russia.

Re: PHASE 100 RELEASED!!
At first, your text made me think you were talking about Brazil. But 300 years ago? Then, I woke up. Brazilian slavery was "abolished" only in 1888. Actually, in practice, Negroes were ejected from their slave houses, that were occupied by Italian immigrants. In short, if workmanship had to be paid, it would not be paid to Negroes. And then Negroes had to move to the shantytowns. You will find them nowadays in our big cities - and not only Negroes, as the shantytowns are the most democratic of our institutions.moooV wrote: I don't know is it a historical unspoken tradition, or just a national custom, but throughout the course of history only choice idiots and thieves were allowed to enter the parliament, become functionaries, or even presidents here.![]()

As to our elected government, it is just a gang in power - I believe you must have read the newspapers.
Well, the way you describe present Russia, hurray to the Soviet Union.
Re: PHASE 100 RELEASED!!
Welcome to The Capitalism, my friend! The worst face of it
Old pratices practices are back in Russia, but here we aren't much better
This is a problem of many ex-communist countries.
The Russian people is to blame too. You demanded Coca Cola, blue jeans and McDonalds, now you have to pay the price
Capitalism is good for a few privileged people and unfair for most of them. The US isn't the best model at all. The ideal system is the one praticed in countries like Sweden, Finland and Canada, very near to the ideal socialism.

Old pratices practices are back in Russia, but here we aren't much better

Even today we still have slavery praticed by some landholders hidden in Brazil innermost interiors. It is called "sistema, ou prática, de barracão" (loose translation = barrack system). It is against the law, of couse, but the authorities doesn't make a big effort to end that.moooV wrote:Damn, we've had a SLAVERY SYSTEM 300 years ago!

2 Sergio:
My beleifs were wrong - statistics have disproven it, none of us are leaders.
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/gov_c ... corruption
The first places in the chart are taken by Iceland, Finland, New Zealand, and Denmark, and the last are Haiti, Birma, Bangladesh, and Chad, thus making it obvious that the most corrupted countries are in the bottom of a chart. Logically, Finland just can't be the world's most rotten.
Ok, let's go.
Brazil is 62.
Russia is 127.
We are two times more corrupted than you are.
I know that's nothing to be proud of, but in this exact case I'm proud.
PS.
I see that our nations' mentality is similar - we both are trying to prove that we're living in a bigger ass, and even are proud of it. Also, we both get offended if the ass we are living in isn't considered big enough.

But our football is undoubtly better =P

Re: PHASE 100 RELEASED!!
I've even remembered a joke:
Brazil: Spectators are watching the match and thinking: "I envy them, they're playing football!"
Russia: Footballers are playing and thinking: "I envy the spectators, they're at home watching football with beer!".

Chad, Bangladesh, Burma and Haiti? Is there anything to be robbed in such countries? Believe me, the criteria are partial.
As a matter of fact, as you said, neither Brazilians nor Russians have reasons to be proud.

It HAD to be an Argentine to be envious. You have to try harder if you want to compete with Russians.Abaddon wrote: That chart is wrong, Argentina must be the first

And I cannot believe you have already surpassed Brazil. It is like football: you insist but never get there.

Re: PHASE 100 RELEASED!!
I'm sure that with another four years of our actual president in no matter of time Argentina will be the most corrupt country in the world
Yes you're right, we are always behind Brazil in everything (and I'm honest with this) a more organizated government, you play football much better (I have to admit I like Pele much more than Maradona) and finally women in Brazil are much prettier than here.
Even Battle Angel Alita is published over there and here not
