---> is it really exploitation? not exploration?

vastness is ok it fits the context, I was just translating the French which uses a colloquial expression equivalent to "all nooks and corners" and as in the game deckmen are mostly in building I just didn't think it was too weird when rereading the art book. I just wanted to remain close to the original, I think your change is for the better. My grudge is somewhat lessened.

your question makes sense but it is not what the French says(or a typing mistake) the word is exploitation.here deckmen are seen as mere devices/ressource and the subject of the sentence is how long deckmen have been in use.

abilities is fine with me, in fact I had hesitated myself when I translated the passage.
as I am mainly trained in British English I guess I was just not paying attention please feel free to make the change

well I tend to disagre on this point

Given that "consist" is followed by an action, my training leads me to put "in " rather than "of" in this case, all the more so since it is a verb. the dictionnary seems to back me up on this point. but I'd rather ask Sergio what his opinion is on the subject given that he is the leading authority regarding grammar on the site. did I say I held a grudge against you? no I was just a little hot tempered that's all.

Actually, there is nothing wrong about that.
The Koyomian calendar (that is a pleonasm, anyway ) was developed especially for the complete edition in order to summarize the events in Hyper Future Vision. Era Sputnik would be presented later, as you yourself said. Thus, the problem is exactly to report what comes after Alita's death, even because that part was removed from the complete edition, and does not make sense in the summary.

when I started perusing at the content of the second part of the art book I noticed there were a couple of pages that could be interesting concerning motor ball just before the art book. could some one scan them as I no longer have a scanner. I can try to have them scanned but could take time. I have already partly translated the page.

this is how it goes

Major league
Motor Ball's elite
encounters even get to be broadcasted in Zalem.
The number of those who can aspire to access this league does not reach 50.

Second League
more elaborate Tactics, more developped fighting techniques as well as the players performances make this league the most popular of all leagues.

Third league
This is the gateway to Motor Ball. Caracterized by its violence, the third league appeals to numerous fans.

Basic League
This unofficial league is concerned with players who have not proved themselves yet, or those who could not be selected in superior leagues. Matches take place in the streets.

The pyramidal structure of Motorball


The different Motorball leagues are run by the factories. it's a sport which attracts numerous players in Kuzutetsu, some players even come from beyond Kuzutetsu's borders to try their luck.

Therefore the number of those taking part, if one choses to include the basic league (also known as 4th league) is tremendous. The 10 huge circuits spread out/ scattered all over Kuzutetsu, employ large quantities of people, and make Motor ball one of the big industies in town.

a betting system comparable to pools (sports betting) is set for every race. The spectators can also watch the exploits of their favorite player and feel the same emotions by connecting to their visual information monitoring.

KUZUTETSU AND MOTORBALL



The two most popular major sports events in Kuzutetsu are the Coliseum, in the Eastern Area, and Motorball in the Western area (Ido's cyberclinic islcated in the Eastern Area on Tempest Avenue)



the Coliseum duels take place in the substratum of Kuzutetsu, the fighters are cyborgs who often exceed 5m in height who are equipped with weapons as powerful asthey are ingenious. One could compare that with some sort of Cyber wrestling.

As for Motorball it is an event which requires huge structures composed of multiple mazes routes are as complex as they are hazardous.

It is a sport which is both akin to baseball and car racing(formula one type).

He who crosses the finishing line with the motor ball is declared winner.

The circuit is a one track. Any player willingly going back more than 3meters gets a penalty.

Any player standing still for more than a minute is considered as disqualified.

Whenever the motorball gets out of the track, or damaged, the race is temporarily stopped for the time necessary to put another one on the track.

The use of all weapons that are not part of the player's the body, missile or propelled weapons, explosive weapons, as well as weapons emitting radiations are forbidden in Motorball. It is equally banned to fly or to use any kind of boosters.

Any fight on the pit lane will cause a disqualification.

A player cannot enter the pits when he's holding the Motorball.

Special rule: In the case only two players should remain on the track, the game is then declared a duel. The winner is the one who will have defeated his opponent in hand to hand combat.
Rules 1 to 4 do not apply in the case of a duel.
