I'll just do a quick quotation:

Hey guys, Here's some info on the issue between Kishiro and Shueisha. It comes from manga-news.com and it's confirmed by Heiji-sama who is a really trustworthy guy, one of the guys who used to run Raw-paradise (R.I.P. Raw-paradise)

I merely translated it in english:
"Is Kishiro Yukito going to leave Shueisha? Indeed, last june 14th, the author posted a message on his blog, explaining that on the 7th of June, he received a phone call from his Tanto (editor) who was asking him to change 3 things in the new version of Gunm. Those three things are:

- change the word Hakkyô (発狂) in the first volume, because this word (which means madness) might refer to schizophrenia (According to shueisha, the ministry of justice would have agreed on this)
- change the word Hakkyô (発狂) in the 4th volume.
- Change the word psycho (in the sentence: Die, you fucking psycho) in the third volume).

The author disapproves of those changes. And he doesn't understand why this decision is taken now, whereas the series has been published for 10 years now. They kept discussing and had a meeting in Tokyo on the 16th. According to the author, this meeting ended up in a total "defeat". The three words are indeed going to be changed.

The author ends his message with this sentence: "Right now I don't know what I am going to do. Am I going to keep on working with Shueisha? Or am I going to find an other way? Right now I haven't decided yet." "

Later, Kishiro pointed out that he used the exact same words in GLO, too, but no one objected to this. There were several other meetings, Kishiro demanded an apology by Shueisha (not only for the changings but also that this issue was suddenly brought up after 10 years, right before the deadline to the 100th chapter anniversary in UJ) and a change back to the old version.
But negotiations eventually failed to come to a good end. Now he's with Kodansha's Evening and will return around March.

Looks as if nobody cares. People! Skipping the novel while you have so much time to make it is an unforgivable crime! It's the only piece of BAA story left we know nothing about.

But it's not like this is written by Kishiro, as far as I know he only developed the villain's look. And no reference or whatsoever to it in the manga or in the various timelines we have, so it simply isn't canon. It's more like a fanfic. And to be honest, I don't expect a 180° new perspective on Alita and the scrapyard after reading it. (More like: introduction, danger drawing near, threat to Alita's loved ones, fight, resolution, end.)
This, plus the huge-ass pile of work translating a whole book in your free time... I can somehow understand that Targa seems to be not interested...

Why do you think so? From the page images in that topic I can say that it's VERY LIKELY to be drawn by YK himself - the style matches 100%. It's an early YK's style (HFV 1&2). The dates on his official gallery are 1996, which is another proof.

Also, it's a printed book from the shop, which Sergio has bought.

Mh, I didn't make myself clear. So Kishiro developed and drew the main antagonist, like you said, okay. But it's a novel, so it's text only, with a few pic's here and there. This is why I meant we most likely already have all the material that YK donated for this project (the pictures) - and "only" lacking the text. The text however was written by [??? I don't know who], but definitely not by YK. He may have thrown in some ideas along with his new characters but nothing more.

Of course it's printed and published, but everything Alita experiences there, everything she learns, every tear, every kiss, every highly philosophical thought never had ANY impact on the manga. I mean it's not even a prequel like the extra story "Christmas Carol", which developes Ido's character more thorough. The whole plot just never happened in BAA. So if it's not canon and if it's not by YK, I'll call it a fanfic.
It's like a movie to an anime series. The plot is pointless and no progress in the overall story or the characters is allowed. Mostly, you can't even say at what exact point in the actual story it is set. I'd recommend you to watch a random Dragon Ball Z movie to get what I mean but I don't want to belittle your opinion about anime even more (because those movies really are crap^^).

It is not canon, certainly, but I would not name it a fanfic.
It is a novel written by Yasuhisa Kawamura, developed from the plot Kishiro had created in HFV, although there are some liberties.

Before stating to scan, I did ask TargaryenX if he was interested in translating it. He even said the mission was a challenge he was attracted to. When I say he suddenly became silent… I mean exactly that.

Of course it is his right to be interested or not, and I would never argue about that, but you can imagine it is only natural for fans to be curious.

And, moooV, the wallpaper is also Kishiro, as it is also included in the book and all the images are credited to Yukito Kishiro.

So that's how it is - now I get it. I just thought that it was a _manga_ drawn by YK, but based on someone else's plot.
If it's a text with some images then you're definitely right.

The Drama "Snowy Mountain Flying Fox" is original and is quite 違Urashii,
It was the best villain of the Department 帰農.
Not much to live up to hail the human weakness and strive to ruthless ambition,
In a sense, "Far North" man's character did say.
"Blue blood sword," the opening theme song is cool.
"Condor Heroes" theme song on the CD I got in imports,
"Blue blood sword" theme song is still a CD I have to wait ~ ized.

(銃夢LO16巻、講談社版は既刊分がまとめられて巻数が変わる可能性あり)
用のカバーイラストと巻末マンガを描く予定です。
巻末のNG人生劇場は、集英社と袂を分かつにいたる経緯を
マンガ化しようと思ってるんですけど、はっきり言って気分が乗らない。
また不愉快なことをいろいろ思い出さなければならないかと思うと…。
事情を知らないファンに対してなんらかの説明はしなくちゃならない、
ならば堅苦しい文章よりは面白おかしくマンガ化しようと考えましたが…
コンセプトは間違ってないけど、制作に要する精神力が不足気味…。

おお、亀の独孤求敗はお元気ですか?
金庸先生の作品はドラマ版だけですが(原作は未読)、
「射雕英雄伝」「連城訣」「雪山飛狐」が特に好きです。
ドラマ版の「雪山飛狐」は原作とはかなり違うらしいですが、
悪役の田帰農が最高でしたね。
野望に邁進する冷酷さと人間的な弱さがあられもないぐらいに同居してて、
ある意味「男の極北」といえるキャラクターでした。
「碧血剣」のオープニング主題歌もかっこいいです。
「射雕英雄伝」の主題歌は輸入CDで手に入れましたが、
「碧血剣」の主題歌はまだCD化されてないのかな〜。
Amazonとかで普通に買えるようになるといいんですけどね。

今春、シュタインズ･ゲートがアニメ化されるとか…
ファンとしてはうれしい反面、すごい不安です。
あの錯綜した世界線という物語構造は
非リニアなアドベンチャーゲームにぴったりマッチしたものだったので、
リニアなアニメのシナリオにどう落とし込むのか…
ムリだと思うけど、各世界線のエンディングごとに1クール、
計4クールぐらいかけてアニメ化してくれたら
最高なんだけどなぁ。

若いときからこの言葉を座右の銘としてきた僕ですが、
たいしたこともなさないうちにあっという間に年を取ってしまいました…。
銃夢LO始めた時は、ZOTTがこんなに長引くとは想定していませんでした。
(間に文明復興編が入ったとはいえ)10年…まだ決勝戦終わってないし。
今年中ぐらいにZOTT編を描き終えるつもりですが、
そのあとにやっと待望の火星編。
(いやその前に金星編が少し入るかも…)
火星編が本来、銃夢「宇宙編」としてやりたかったストーリーなので、
末永くおつきあいくださるようお願いします。

Crap, this is so exciting! I don't know what he is talking about with the "venus part" of the story. But who cares! The end of the ZOTT is in sight!!!

Nothing like this.

If you remember (you can open the manga and confirm, but DON'T POST IT HERE; and I'm confident of my memory) a box with Lou's brain was left intact - robots transported it to the Space Angels platform and Deckman had it with him when he threw the brainchip and Fata Morgana to Tunguska.

It's amusing to witness how the one user here that tries to avoid GLO for one year each (moooV) constantly get's free GLO-pictures by helpful users.
I finally get to use the mega-smiley:

But a Venus chapter? Please no! Get Alita on Mars, let her turn into a human (maybe reunite with Figure Four) and then finish it. It will be a sad day in our lifes but good things don't tend to get better if you play with them for too long...

@Brain: Plus, Alita's brain most likely is on Mars right now, since Nova took the Olympus Express some time ago. However, in the retroperspective, the whole rescue-Lou-plot was rather weak, right now Alita doesn't give a damn about this brain anymore.

When number 100 shoots the brainchip, it is already the final result.

I do not know if Alita is still worried about Lou's brain or not, but one thing is clear: the ZOTT has gone to far and it would be great if the action is transferred to Mars.

That's exactly what I wanted to say. You see, Lou's brain is safely inside the P-box, it wasn't blended with Alita's brain chip and Fata Morgana, thus proving this phrase of gilsand wrong:

Lou Collins. The GIB operator who saved Alita from the tuneds. You can see her in the last volumes of HFV.

I remember, the blonde girl that resembles Pam. Too bad, I think that she isn't a very important character in LO actually, the rescue is somewhat senseless because I fell that Alita's loss all interest about her in the last chapters.

Just a few thoughts, gilsand;

Yukito might have just drawn a "P" on the P-box in the last image you posted to make it look less bare, as a mistake, or just automatically, not even thinking about why he was putting a "P" on the box as he drew.

Or

It might be that if it was intentional, there are plenty of P-boxes in the GLO universe. Like a shipping box from Amazon.com; they all have the same curved arrow shape that looks like a smile on one side of the box, yet we can all agree that not all Amazon.com shipping boxes are the same one (I hope).

The P-box(es) are probably just a cargo boxes in GLO; mass-produced for various needs (in GLO).

A few last things is why would Nova give Alita her brain back after working so hard to get it? How would Alita get her brain back from someone like Nova who can apparently crush her (at that period of time)? And in vol. 14, when Alita is "healing" Zazie, she is contemplating to herself about how she felt when she found out her brain was a chip and all that that entails, she says nothing about having any physical human flesh left, including any of Lou's.

And plus, Alita has a dominant, warrior, strong, proud, won't-be-pushed-around-for a-second type personality; Lou has a very different personality. Fusing them with no noticeable difference would be impossible.

While on the subject, though, I'd like someone to explain to me why at the end of vol. 11, when Number 100 tosses Sechs Alita's "chip" fused with the Fata Morgana, it looks like a brain? We've seen the insides of people's heads with brain-chips in the GLO universe before; we know that it's just a biochip at the bottom of the character's skull. So why does Alita have a biochip with a fake brain encasing it?

I agree that Yukito Sensi be afforded artistic license for the use of the box to fill space, or that the "P" on the box might denote cargo identifier, a mistake, or a cargo Tag.
OK,

But come on, as meticulous as he is in creating his art for the story, I would like to think he has that detail covered. He throws so much into the story that it is his intention to overwhelm you with details.

How would Alita get her brain back from someone like Nova who can apparently crush her (at that period of time)?

Since Alita is on a Warriors quest I see her discovering new abilities, hmmm. What did that "Death Star" type thing say at the end?
The gentle nature of Lou's personality may be what is needed to balance the warrior.
Just a thought...
