The pricing per the aboves site is inflated. http://www.jmshop.net/ sells them for $1 to start up to $5 for rarer titles. I've ordered from them before and they have a very wide selection, but their search function seems to be gone now.

I always wanted to have battle angel alita (1-9) complete set. but the English version in brand new condition is very rare and expensive. so there is no choice for me to buy Japanese version. I don't know why but sellers in Amazon marketplace do not ship used books to UAE and it seems nobody knows why! whatever, I have to buy the books straight from Japan. the only version i could find for vol.1 was "Gunnm: New Edition".
it's not tankobon, it is shinsoban. i wish i could have the rest volumes in tankobon version. but there is no choice.
soon i will buy gunnm (1-9) + gunnm kasei senki

In my country it's really hard to find anything GUNNM, I just have:

- Battle Angel Alita - Part Six
- Battle Angel Alita - Original DVD
- Battle Angel Alita - Original VHS
- Alita T-shirt (made from a design of my own)

Last year I tried to get a new copy of the first volume of the manga, English version, from Amazon, but it didn't work out. Now I want the Ars Magna as a gift to myself on my 30th birthday, I wish it turns out fine.

If the live action ever gets done, I hope it will bring merch to my country, specially the mangas and figures. I really liked your collections, so many beautiful stuff in there!

Speaking of this, Book Off had LO 1-3 bundled together for about 200 yen per tankobon. And a 20% off sale on books through January 4.

I passed. Got so many doujins and other things that ended up shipping home 30 kg of stuff.

i love them ,problem is finding sellers willing to ship to USA even findin gunnm modle kits is hard i only own rebirth and the trench coat gally...

I really want to purchase the resin kit with Alita standing with the optional coat

All I can find on EBay (been searching every day for over a year) are crappy recasts ...I've bought a couple of these, and they are just poorly molded pieces in a bag.

I would pay very well for an original, new-in-box version of this model kit.

Anyone have one or know where I could find one?

I'll PayPal a $30 finders fee to anyone who can link me with a site (or someone) willing to sell this kit (new and sealed in-box) and ship it to the United States.

You won't find any original pre-painted figure of Alita to buy because none were ever made. The only option is to buy one of those unassembled kits and paint it by yourself or pay someone skilled to do. If you opt for that, I suggest E2046 as the source of the best recasts.

Correction: I found this youtube video about the declining quality of E2046 recasts, so they may not be the best option anymore.

I'm confused why you think these resin kits were never sold new.

By pre painted I mean a figure you only have to take it out of the box and display, because it is all assembled and painted. Except for a small articulated figure and a doll, there was never a figure of Alita pre painted and assembled afaik.

By the way, the picture of the unassembled kit you posted is one of E2046 recasts, not an original "made in Japan", I know very well the way they pack their kits. As you can see it is a good recast, but I don't know if they still have high standards.

Sorry...I just a minute ago realized that we were using different definitions of "pre-painted". I took it to mean before being painted, nonpainted, unpainted. You took it to mean "already painted." I should have been more clear.

Now I'm curious though as to who or what company first created this particular model. Was it an official product endorsed by Kishiro? Or was it fan-made? Was it originally sold already put together and painted (it seems it never was from what you said), or was it sold as a do-it-yourself "kit"?

I always thought that this resin kit (the E2046 kit pictured above) was the original manifestation of this particular Alita figure. I seem to have a lot to learn.

Edit: Id be happy with a new kit from E2046 (with instructions, the photo, etc), but if there was an "original" kit from Japan I want that the most, of course!
