Kishiro has based a lot of Zekka's character on the rockstar archetype as well.

As you may know, Kishiro is a music/metal fan. Putting Zekka on the cover in a rock band with the Karatekas is Kishiro's way of having some fun and "winking" at the reader.

And if you don't understand this, I'm sorry, but you're the one with the malfunctioning chip.

I simply said that in NO moment Zekka was shown singing or as part of a rock band. I simply said that THIS part of his personality has NEVER been shown. I simply implied that a cover picturing him as a rock star was NOT correspondent to any page shown up to now. I daresay it is a sort of poetic license, to say the least.

OK, I understand what you are saying now. You are correct that Zekka has not literally done any singing in a band so far in Gunnm, and you are also correct that this cover is different from all previous covers in that it portrays a character doing something that he has not done so far in the comic.

It's the first time Kishiro has taken "poetic license" in this way for a cover, as far as I know.

I was just saying that I understand why Kishiro chose this cover, as Zekka's personality is similar to the stereotypical rock star personality. Kishiro is just playing around, having some fun with his characters.

Lets say, some covers display the deepest feeling or function of a character in the manga or at the moment of the story. Like Sechs flying crazy through the arena (he had some rampage in that volume), Caerula in front of the rocket (a new world and she is part of it) or like Alita on the "Angel Lake" (or Cake) cover ("Water of Styx", Alita is sort of dead, she is struggling to be reborn).
Now we have the same thing with Zekka, although I admit its a bit over the top.
Also I'm a bit sad, that Olympe or Ygrek didn't make it on the cover, but Rakan did.

Good point. I'd love to see a colored group drawing of Ygrec, Pissarro and Olympe.
