Well, reincarnation yes, but not in the manner religions teach. We are beings of light, and energy created by a God we cannot possibly begin to comprehend. Much like an ant isn't capable of understanding human society. I don't want to waist your time on that conversation though because there is no end to that discourse.

Diabetic, yes I also deal with it, however loosing weight and exercise has countered the effects.
I see it happening here in the U.S. where age is being more preferred. Remember old age and treachery will overcome youth and talent every time. I am still being asked to go back to work as much of the Techs that are availble only know enough to be dangerous. Even when it comes down to physicality, I have had no trouble beating the crap out of guys half my age. There is so much to be said for what you know and understand now, than what you knew as a youth. I bet you work smarter and more efficient than when you had little or no expirence. Also, the whole world is going through economic difficulties, ( I blame the Republicans ), so don't feel like a pregnant Nun. I look at things differently than most having been near death several times in my life.

Yes a Multiple Input DVD/touch screen with a Dell Epsilon computer in the trunk using Microsofts Voice Command for XP, G3 access, Bluetooth for phone, a library of 1000 songs,and 16 speakers @ 3000 WATTS. Only illegal if the driver is watching it while driving. But OK if displaying a GPS or map data.

The country makes all the difference regarding what you can do with how much you have, here in Brazil (fucking shit) I'm pretty satisfied being able to buy a car. When I was a teenager I wasn't able to even dream having a car. Here by only delivering newspapers and cutting grass you would need to save money for decades before having enough to buy even a used a car and that only if you could get that kind of jobs, that is also very difficult, besides you need to be at least 18 to have a licence.
Now that I have a pretty good car and money, by Brazilian standards, I'm tied by marriage. Yes, I could cheat on my wife, but I don't have enough energy to have a double life. Some of my colleages, around the same age as me, did though. Actually I don't want to go back to my adolescence if I would had to live without money again!

Let's not exaggerate. If that were true, two things wouldn't exist:
1. The obscene traffic in our cities.

I've been reading Gunnm since early millennium. I've now read the original series several times and regularly refer to some parts of it repeatedly to admire the great artwork and story, not to mention the powerful messages, especially of courage, loyalty and the soul vs technology. I feel like Gally/Alita has always been in my life; my childhood sweetheart was called Aleeta, which is partly what attracted me to the manga in the first place. I also have a cousin whose close friend is a DEAD ringer for Alita. (I once told her jokingly that if she was just a little bit shorter she could have been in a James Cameron movie - - one can dream...)

Since 2006. Alita/Gally is pretty special to me. She's one of the very few female protagonists I've seen in a work of fiction to have a sort of charisma, a kind of magnetism to her. Most "strong" female leads feel like they're only playing at strength, like no matter what over-the-top stunts they pull, their heart's not really in it; they'd rather be doing anything but using violence to achieve their aims. They'd rather follow the herd, live in a rule-driven society, and be "normal". Gally is different. She has passion and ambition, and actually strives for self-actualization. There are only a handful of strong female leads that are truly individualistic like that.

Kind of similar to how many people mention a lot how studio ghibli is notorious for having strong independent and complex female characters
