That, or, thanks to Fata Morgana, and actually being within Mendelvi...-erm, the super-computer, the brain is synchec with the brain chip.
Interesting. I like your forecast.

An interesting thought occurred to me. If the Dragon Slaying Method can really destroy things spiritually the way Zekka claims, it might be a good method for finally ridding herself of Colonel Payne...
Difficult. The Jungian shadow is a psychological (not spiritual) nightmare.

Hmmm, in most anime/manga
mind and soul are the same, just saying.
Eriorguez that's a nice theory, It will be really interesting to see the end of the first part of Gunnm as a canon (or sort of...) According to Ping Wu those brains are the most happy beings in the universe, so it makes sense.

Says who? Payne? He's just as likely an actual "ghost" as Tunpo is for Toji.
Computer Arthur seems to suggest the possibility of karmic/quantum vibrations being able to travel forwards and backwards in time. Payne and Tunpo are both Quantum Spirits, not extensions of Toji and Alita's psyches.

-c86 - Sechs chalanging Alita without his small puppet.
I came up with theory

"Little Sechs" is some kind of fail-safe system for Sechs when he is prepared for fight. It is atached only when Sechs know he will be fighting. When he is taking maintance or getting "pimped up" he isn't wearing it. It's like groin protector

when you are participating in kyokushin turnament its like "must-have-item".

OR
every time you think he isn't connected/there, he is just hidden behind his shoulder.
i never ever doubted that he was connected 99% of the time and only separated for main body maintenance.

Keep in mind that Mini-Sechs is capable of sneaking up on Zekka with his compound eyes, and that Sechs has been learning to keep his mini-self out of sight since learning the hard way against M'badi.
There is absolutely no reason to believe that Mini-sechs isn't present in each and every scene you mentioned. If you can actually mention a scene where you can see both of his bodies clearly unconnected, I'd be more inclined to agree with you.
And even then, the Bunnies maintain their brainchips in remote bodies that aren't directly connected to their tuned forms in any visible way.
