zott was merely a background, i didn't really care for it except when they declared the war of independance

i was more appealed by the vampire arc (which i kept reading again and again in raw for more than 18 month before translation finally caught up), the story of the quantum computer...

for all the criticism about zott, i got only one thing to tell you : the very basic plotline of this story is "a girl without memories, who got them back by fighting stronger opponents".

now she reached the Zenith of All Things, and got all her memories back. there is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong anywhere here.

all the teams and their backstories (like the starship cult fucked up shit) explained part of the background, really to tell "this can happen in the space era, and this too and this too, oh and look how fucked up this is"

the mercury nano lifeform... hell could break loose from only this.


really, remember the very basic plotline : gaining her memories back while fighting to the verge of death... she actually DIED and arthur called her back. what more do you want ?

Speaking of the Weasel, remember too that his plan was to use the ZOTT as cover to sneak into Melchizedek and find Lou's brain. And this would not have happened successfully without getting the Fata Morgana, which was given to Alita by Caerula during their match – I think that is at least one redeeming thing that happened during the ZOTT proper.

True. But this happened within the second volume since ZOTT's beginning, at which point it wasn't yet the storytelling disaster it proved out to be.

Exactly, the ZOTT was Kishiro's narrative tool to explore and develop the Gunnmverse.

Anyone is free to praise or rant about the ZOTT as much as they want, but it's already spilled milk or water under the bridge depending on your view. So you can either accept it for what it was or tried to be, good and bad (I admit that overall I liked it more than I disliked it) or you can be bitter for having spent so many years of your life following what in the end you now feel was not worth it or a waste. Your choice, but for me the former is not as restricting and doesn't keep me stuck in a negative frame, so that's where I choose to come from.

Long time lurker (like, 5 years or so), first time poster! Just wanted to thank you all for this epic hard work, from month to month I'm coming back and getting my BAA fix. The truth is, I haven't even touched Lost Order stuff as much as I wanted to, the idea was to start reading EVERYTHING from issue No.1 of BAA and then continue with LO. Loving the look of Alita, she seems much slender and mature in Phase 109 don't you think?
