Kinai.
Well Mbadi's position is management committee chairman, that's what the kanjis translate as or Assistant Chairman in Viz translation、and Yajnik is LADDER chairman. And like many companies, Yajnik would be the president who is a figurehead and Mbadi like a CEO and together with the committee are actually the ones that manage it and make decisions.

If you want to find out why Mbadi looks different on screen read Vol. 05 phase 26 when everyone is at a restaurant, you'll find your hint there.

So... Venus is a French colony, Earth and Moon is America's, Mars is Germany's and Jupiter is Russia's. That's seems funny. :)

I really liked this detail. Todays' spectrum of global politics have been adapted into planetary scale. I wonder where Norway would have fit in. Probably as one of the minor asteroids, or maybe one of Jupiter's demolished moons, heh!

Thanks a lot for the translation btw.

So far some useless little scrap as Neptune would turn to be italian :P

Anyway, i think Alita herself is getting too strong, with new gadgets, the risk is LO turns to be pretty boring :)

hmm i think kishiro is too intelligent to produce one of these mary sue characters

i think, well there are two alitas still, the original in melchizedek and the brainchip perfect copy.

what if...hmm...brainchip alita becomes a future baddie..

Or they are one Alita now. The brainchip one has a quantum link to melchizedeck. And if her brain is a part of this computer...

But who knows where the brain really is?

Even a crappy typesetting takes a couple hours jkays. And it´s a very boring job :/

Before I can start doing proper releases, I need some more proofreading
http://jcafe.vnmanga.com/index.php/board,95.0.html take a look over here and look for spelling errors and wrong names.

And their is lots of pages that need to cleaned on Phase 67; 20,23,26,27
Phase 69; 1, 28-29, 31
Phase 70; 1, 2-3, 12

Did you have cleaned phases Romanus?

Phase 67 and 68 are finished. That took me a couple hours.
Only pages 20,23,26,27 in Phase 67 that is missing before I release it.

Bed time now Zzzzzzzzzz...

Pissarro: Venus B Block seed "Genome Kingdom"
Pissarro: Chief Gesigner Pissarro Crié de Vouivre
Pissarro: How are you doing!?
Isn't it sounds too Japanish? I think the better way for him to introduse himself would be:

Pissarro: I... am a Chief Gesigner Pissarro Crié de Vouivre
Pissarro: of the Venus B Block seed "Genome Kingdom"

Or smth like that... Because it's too rude to do other way round, and I don't think he really is talking rudely.

When they are written down Italian, France and Spanish look quite alike, the clear difference gets out when they are spoken, and mostly because of accent :P I remember once when i and other guys met a bunch of spanish girls on Copenhaghen. For about 15 minuts we where convinced they where italian girls from Venice or somewhere about, and we where pretty puzzled about why we couldn't fully understand they're speach. Just a few later we realized they were obviusly speaking spanish :P

Anyway those words looks pretty frence, spanish word would be Pizarro, and would be prounuced quite harder.

Europa? Only extra-terrestial place I can think of where there could be fjords.

I'm quite sure Mbadi must have received a peace prize after defeating Vares.

Dont push yourself too hard for some cleaning and scanlating! I mean, we waited for some weeks now, what will some more weeks do to us? When the time comes, it'll come.
Im sure, the people here spend much time in all this, so rushing them simply seems not fair...

Anyway, its very cool, to have an international staff here! Like this forum contains russian, italian, brazilian, sweden, english, french, german people, thats really cool. It shows what circles of influence BAA has.

@crazyankan: oh man! Alita got all fat and hairy! :D
THX for the speedy!

Here's some proofreading (95% are only punctuation marks):

page3
p3
Afro-Nova: This, she took possession of the Jupiter Wormhole reactor and even be able operate it!?
---> maybe: "be able TO operate it" or "be able to operate with it"
---> and maybe "what" or "Could it be" instead of "this" at the beginning?

page6
p1
Zekka: I will tell you something better than a War of Independence
---> "then" instead of "than"
---> since Zekka is a rocker, he should speak "cooler". Like "I'll tell ya somethin'", or what do you think? maybe a native speaker could put a bit slang in his lines...

p4
Zekka: Hey! Kid, it's not time to sleep!!
---> Thought its maybe "it's no time to sleep" instead of "not"

Zekka: Make sure to do your homework
---> period at the end.

Sechs: Was the promise broken..!?
---> don't understand what promise Sechs means...

page7
p3
Mbadi: You can do it
---> period at end

p5
Zekka: Why should I
---> question mark at end

page 8-9
Zekka: From now on, Only those who wanna fight are gonna fight. Only those who wanna watch are gonna watch.
---> "only" instead of "Only"

page 10

Pissarro: Venus B Block seed "Genome Kingdom"
Pissarro: Chief Gesigner Pissarro Crié de Vouivre
--> two times period ant end

Pissarro: How are you doing!?
-------> hepar said quite something, but couldnt one also read it that way? Cause it sounds kind of arrogant if you say it like this... (or is it only my impression?) And the Venus- Team sure is arrogant.

p2
Pissarro: Chairman Mbadi, I have a request too
---> period ant end

page12:
Pissarro: Only the team who wins the Pre-tournament "Venus Cup" can become our representative in the ZOTT
---> period at end

Pissarro: My "Genome Kingdom" defeated the last ZOTT champion team "Le Behemoth"
---> period at end

Pissarro: Of course we must meet those expectations HOHOHO!!
---> period after "expectations"?

p4
Zekka: Just disappear!!
---> does he directly say that? Otherwise we could just let him say "Piss off" or "get lost"

footnote: Even the previous ZOTT Champion team must win through this tournament to become the next representative.
---> i think this sentence has to be set in past tense, because they talk about the last Seed team, 10 Years ago

page13
---> i liked "Opus" very much. It expresses the view in the venusian way very well ;)

p2
Pissarro: come greet Zekka
---> maybe "Come TO greet Zekka"
---> and period at end

p3
Homme du feu: Oui (yes)
---> period at end

page14
p2
Guard2: Bu... but
---> some dots at end

p3
Sechs: What's this development?
---> maybe just "What's happenig?"? Because Sechs isnt that smart and talks like it ;) (sorry for the Sechs Fans)

Sechs: Lucky not knowing the body limits
---> period at end

tl note: had some problems translating this sechs line.
---> yes... err, maybe Sechs means the limit of a body aut of flesh and blood? Like "not knowing the bodys limits"?
Or Sechs refers to the ZOTT limit of the size of an enemy (like mentioned by the reporters, when Sechs fought against the spinning jovian- enemy) But The Venus- Zekka isnt that huge.....

page16:
Zekka: Greet me with a white belt level...
---> maybe: "To greet me with a white..."?

I know I missed some punctuation marks, i'll just point out where I disagree.

page3
p3
Afro-Nova: This, she took possession of the Jupiter Wormhole reactor and even be able to operate it!?
---> maybe: "be able TO operate it" or "be able to operate with it"
---> and maybe "what" or "Could it be" instead of "this" at the beginning?

The Japanese text afaik, indicates directly operating the reactor, not with it. Reading the Japanese text again I'd change "took possession of" to "took over". And yeah, be able TO operate it. I had it corrected in my file, but forgot the "TO" here.

About Afro-Nova, I've noticed from the Japanese raws that he starts many of his sentences with "Korewa" which translates as "This is". I've tried to avoid it, but it's more like his way of speaking, just on page 3 he uses it three times!

page6
p1
Zekka: I will tell you something better than a War of Independence
---> "then" instead of "than"
---> since Zekka is a rocker, he should speak "cooler". Like "I'll tell ya something'", or what do you think? maybe a native speaker could put a bit slang in his lines...

I think you're mistaken on the use of "then" and "than".
http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/than.html

or if you want their definitions.
then: Adverb
then (not comparable)
1. at that time.
2. soon afterward.
3. next in order; in addition.
4. in that case.
5. at the same time; on the other hand.

than: Prepostion
1. introduces a comparison, and is associated with comparatives, and with words such as more, less, and fewer. Typically, it seeks to measure the force of an adjective or similar description between two predicates.

I know Zekka talks more like a rocker and it would be nice if someone would rewrite his lines.

Sechs: Was the promise broken..!?
---> don't understand what promise Sechs means...
The line was translated as is, iirc the promise Sechs made with Zekka was that he'd get stronger and meet in the finals. Since Sechs was unconscious he may have thought they were kicked out of the tournament or it was really suspended.

p5
Zekka: Why should I
---> question mark at end
This line was separated into two bubbles, those two lines joined together they read:
Zekka: Why should I be directed by this loser!?

maybe I should have added an ellipsis
Zekka: Why should I...
Zekka: be directed by this loser!?

Pissarro: How are you doing!?
-------> hepar said quite something, but couldnt one also read it that way? Cause it sounds kind of arrogant if you say it like this... (or is it only my impression?) And the Venus- Team sure is arrogant.

The japanese greeting he uses is a variation of "Gokigenyoh", it's a formal greeting and frequently translated as "How do you do?" and sometimes "Good day to you". Here Pissarro says "Gokigen ikaga!?" more like questioning everyone how are they doing or if they're having a good day.

And yes I think Venus or rather Pissarro are arrogant, if you look at how he acts.

p4
Zekka: Just disappear!!
---> does he directly say that? Otherwise we could just let him say "Piss off" or "get lost"

The translation is disappear or vanish, but piss off or get lost can be used too.

footnote: Even the previous ZOTT Champion team must win through this tournament to become the next representative.
---> i think this sentence has to be set in past tense, because they talk about the last Seed team, 10 Years ago

The footnote was in present tense since it's implied this rule applies every time to the Venus Cup and its participants, not just the last Seed team from 10 years ago.

tl note: had some problems translating this Sechs line.
---> yes... err, maybe Sechs means the limit of a body aut of flesh and blood? Like "not knowing the bodys limits"?
Or Sechs refers to the ZOTT limit of the size of an enemy (like mentioned by the reporters, when Sechs fought against the spinning jovian- enemy) But The Venus- Zekka isnt that huge.....

I had problems translating this line since it's an special use of a verb + another phrase. My dictionary had an example of it's use but in this case I don't see what it's referring to in both cases. The first part of the sentence refers to not having or not knowing the body limits and the second part to being in a good place or good time. In the end you have four options. Maybe someone with better understanding of Japanese can help. But going by Sechs reaction I think he wants to say "This is a good chance (to observe), since their body capabilities are unknown" but that's only my assumption.

page16:
Zekka: Greet me with a white belt level...
---> maybe: "To greet me with a white..."?

Here the idea is that both are karatekas, and a white belt is someone who just began studying Karate. Zekka thinks: "Why challenge me when Homme moves like a beginner?"

p3
Zekka: Fufufu
Zekka: This is the first time in my life that I've been made such a fool
---> period at end, and is that sentence correct?

That's what zekka says unless you prefer the literal one, which is "This is the first time since I was born, that I've been made such a fool!!"

page25
p1
Alita: Number two
---> period at end
---> and why said Alita number 2? Where is number one?

Well, it isn't clear to me either. The japanese text says two, number two or second. I think she's yelling her turn for a request to Mbadi, the first one was Pissarro asking for the ZOTT to continue. Or maybe it's something else altogether.
