All the rumors about this movie and now this picture of this battle machine... That thing looks
so lame!
It even has windshield wipers, how uncool is that?!
Also, the design isn't what I'd call "unique" and like I said, the rumors about the whole thing where like "something
totally new is gonna happen". What's the outcome? Its just another movie. meh.

Looks like it's going to be Comicon in San Diego 23 July.
Trailer of BA or Avatar? o_0

Somehow Avatar is starting to remind me the "Battle for Terra" cartoon. You can see quite an amount of similarities in plot and art - let's wait a trailer to see if it is so.

Wha? I thought James Cameron was doing this movie! It says M. Night Shyamalan! Is Avatar something different than Avatar: The Last Air Bender?! What's going on here!? lol
Seriously, I'm confused!

There is a cartoon, caaled Avatar: The Last Airbender. About a guy who can bend air, trying to defeat the evil firebenders (he is supported by some friends of course) (3 seasons, its not half bad). The cartoon was very successful but when they wanted to make a movie out of it, Cameron had already announced his title would be "Avatar" - totally unrelated to the cartoon "Avatar: Last Airbender".
So they named the movie after the subtitle "The Last Airbender" (this movie'll be directed by Shyamalan)

He meant that he hasn't given it up, but I hoped he will. That's what confused me.

Cameron giving up filming Gunnm? I will finally have a reason to respect him.

As far as I understood Cameron only explained the new amazing camera technique he will use for gunnm.
I don't understand why everybody is afraid of a film. If the film will be bad we can ignore it - like everybody did with the animes. But what if Cameron makes a good film? Wouldn't it be cool?

I have to admit that I did not pay any especial attention to the clip.
As to being afraid, it is easy: I am a super fan of this great work, and I do consider that a film respecting the knotty narrative. The problem is that one would have to be extremely naïve to consider that Cameron would make anything respecting a knotty narrative or something. A man who was able to make a movie like Piranha
CANNOT be considered an artist. Or do you really consider works like
Terminator and
Titanic as art? The former is a great work of special effects, but only that; thje latter would have to evolve a lot to be considered that. It is a blockbuster, certainly, but not a work of art.

Spy Report: James Cameron's 'Battle Angel' doing tests right now!
Posted by Kayvan Ghavim, Sep 15, 2009 1:14 pm PT
MarketSaw gets an update on the long-gestating anime adaptation, and they've got some big news to drop!
From MarketSaw's spy report:
On what is happening right now for ANGEL:
Make no mistake this is the movie your website will be pursuing in time to come. The tests are "Beautiful" and "Complex" beyond your wildest dreams. Stunningly beautiful, considering the fact that some are old(ish). Imagine this for a second. A cyborg chick "the Angel of Death" taking out "a lot" of other part man, part machine type "people".
On what those tests contain:
Now picture the "Angel of Death" looking like a child. a 14 year old. Now imagine this, this little girl goes through these guys like butter. Did you see the KICK-ASS trailer? Well imagine that girl via the Matrix via Ghost in the shell, via AI. "Remember the True Lies bathroom brawl?" Well take out Arnold, and "copy and paste" Bruce Lee on acid via the Terminator. as seen through the eyes of a sweet innocent 14 year old cyborg girl. And all of this done via the mind of James Cameron, Holy shit what is not to love? The lights flicker and shit hits the fan. Awesome stuff.
On Angel's future:
You will be hearing the phrase "Angel of death" a lot in time to come. At least judging from the level of involvement now. I bet Angel will go green soon. The only thing I can see setting back Angel is Avatar. And you know why that is don't you.
Yay! Tests being done! Something, at least!!!

Fuck!
looking like a child. a 14 year old.
Fuck twice!
Nightmare has already began, and this whole thing is slowly getting worse and worse.

Well, in the beginning, she
is about 14, at least mentally.
But BAA
NEVER was about "holy shit, its like Bruce Lee on acid, going though villains like butter, zomg!!!^1". If they don't change their promotion course by 180° very very soon, then even the pessimists of this forum where wrong - because this movie will get even more worse.

I'm against this movie. However, if this movie airs, I'll be in the first lines, BUT... then I'll have to be drinking away that psychological damage for more than a month.

Ugh, not what I wanted to hear about the movie. I hope that Kishiro does not let them tarnish his creation just because it is what typical moviegoers want to see.
CG Loli-robot (because you KNOW the general public could care less that cyborg =/= robot) dealing out one-inch punch to other robots + 'splosions and obligatory scantilly clad women (because in the future, clothes are overrated) Its done by the guy that made Titanic, its GOT to be good!!!!1!!!
DO NOT WANT

One more reason, why this movie shouldn't be made.
I predict: hamsters will not agree with me.
xieveral wrote:general public could care less that cyborg =/= robot
To draw huge ratings and to justify investments this will be made for a cattle audience. And they won't care at all.

...as expected.
Do you see that it has begun??? Do you see the consequences?
Fuck, this discussion is completely pointless.

Only about 2 months left before the premier.
Are everybody here going to see it?

I'll watch it in HD right half a year after the cinema release, just like I watch all movies.
I hate cinemas, because:
1) You have to bear a lot of stupid cattle around you, who are distracting you from the screen - they're laughing, screaming scared, eating, making other noises. Fuck that, I don't get any pleasant experience in the cinema.
I like to watch all movies at home, in HD 1080p quality, closing all doors and windows, turning off lights and phones, so nothing can distract me from watching.
2) Movie translation in the cinema is usually so-so. At home I use to watch all movies in the original soundtrack (if it's english) without even noticing that they're not in my native language. One more sickening thing about the movie voice translation - it desynchronizes the sound and the mimics, making the movie look incorrect.
The only exception I'll probably make - I'll go to the BA premiere if that movie airs. However, I'm categorically against that movie.

Bah! It is not recommended to watch TV in the dark.
