Looking for more Kodansha digital based releases I found:

Battle Angel Alita - Last Order Omnibus v01 (2013) (Digital) (danke-Empire).cbz ... 750 MB
Battle Angel Alita - Last Order Omnibus v02 (2013) (Digital) (danke-Empire).cbz ... 1.13 GB

Size is a pain too scroll, but quality is nice and you get two short stories "Planet of Depths" as extra. Volume 2 ends with Phase 37. I was told the Omnibus has five volumes.

The omnibuses are twelve volumes. No one would comprise 19 volumes in fi ve and even include extras.

I am seriously thinking about buying Battle Angel Alita: Last Order Omnibus edition just because of the extra stories. I already have the whole Last Order arch published by Viz and Kodansha and didn't want to buy all of it again, however those extras that I was looking forward to read for many yars, Kishiro's early works from the 80's, damn! I must have them. I have already read the digital version, but regarding Kishiro's work, I rather have the printed stuff.

Here is a related question: Alita's extra stories have an English edition? I searched for it but I couldn't find anything. I already have the Japanese edition, the one that was paired with a lousy action figure of Alita, yet I would like to have a printed English edition.

Speaking of figures, I was hoping that the upcoming movie would prompt the figurine makers to release a decent Alita's figurine rendition, but after seeing the trailer, hell, I don't want a figure of that damn monster! If a figure is to be released, I hope they take the manga for base, the Japanese usually have a keen eye for figures. They didn't release a figure of Motoko Kusanagi based on the live action movie depiction probably because they knew it would be a flop. The only one I know is from a non Japanese company.

Kusanagi is my second favorite female cyborg, how about you guys?

if you're talking gunnm: another stories I heard Kodansha is going to add that to battle angel alita deluxe edition 5 (released in July 2018). Since that will feature volume 9 and gunnm another stories (side stories like sonic fingers, holy nights, Barjack Rhapsody etc.).

Also my second favourite female cyborg is a character named 00 unit, that's where I got the user name 00 unit in the first place

That's it , I got the name wrong. Thanks for the info, I will keep an eye on that.

From where is that 00 Unit? The only reference I could find was the Eva 00 from Evangelion.

Don't think you heard of it, but it is an obscure video game called muv luv alternative. It's a visual novel where you just read all day. The story content is worth about 110 hours approx (since it has 3 parts extra, unlimited and alternative). Slow start, but escalates drastically when one reaches alternative

Actually I know about it, that game isn't obscure, on the contrary, it was so popular that it got both an anime and a manga adaptation. Plus there are a number of figurines of the main characters. The thing is that I have yet to watch/read/play it.

It would be awesome if Gunnm had the same kind of spotlight. :|

You are welcome!
Spoiler:
v5 ends with phase 93. If my math is right (18 phases / omnibus) there should be 2 more volumes until last phase, which is afaik 129.

I got my two first omnibuses delivered by Amazon today and I am not pleased unfortunately. Starting with the cover, the paper feels and looks cheap, also the format isn't even one millimeter bigger than the previous edition. Any color pages are out of question too. Quite a letdown. I purchased these because of the extra stories, the early Kishiro's works but I was expecting something better, quality wise. Even the Brazilian's omnibus edition of BAA Hyper Future Vision is superior: the pages 15mm taller and 5mm wider, there are color pages and the paper is better. Another issue is that the GLO omnibuses comprises three volumes plus the extras, so they are really thick, 5.5cm to be exact, thus they are cumbersome to handle. If you are not a fossil like myself, that holds an attachment to paper, stick to the digital versions.

Hi there and welcome,

If I remember well, there was a numbering difference between the chapters released in the Ultra Jump magazine and those later compiled in the tankubons. This is quite common, the first release of a chapter is like V1.0 and when re-released later, some stuff may be corrected, redrawn or changed in some way to become V1.1 or the final version. That is because when first released the chapters may be rushed in some way and later, when they are put together in a tankubon, the author have the chance to fix or change something that he/she regard as necessary at their own discretion or by some input from the editors or even readers feedback.
