Also I'm amazed you didn't put Muster as the lamest character given how much focus he gets (not that I consider him the "lamest" but I know others would).

Not sure about order, but my favorites are: Alita, Vilma, Erica, Sechs, Arthur, Nova, Ping, Kayne, Kaos, Ido and Zekka.

Alita, Zazie, and Sechs definitely take my top 3.

For me it is much easier numbering the ones I dislike more because they are damn fucking annoying: Muster, Figure Four, Koyomi, Colonel Payne, Yugo and Tzikrow. Notice that half of these are "good guys". While Yukito have indubitable talent to create iconic characters, being them heroes or foes, he also is capable of creating some of the most annoying characters that I know. I truly hate annoying sidekicks, pesky brats, irritating vilains, and dumb lovers. While I, unlike many, like to see a bit of romance in seinen or shonen manga, Yukito brought up some shitty characters to be Alita's love interest. A cliché character in anime and manga that I am fed up to see is a good guy that is plain dumb and stubborn, I call these cockroach characters because I have the urge to see them dead like when I see a real life cockroach. And, unfortunately, we already can see the prototype of Figure in one of his earlier stories, The Machine.

Oh, I know that Sechs fits that stereotype, however she/he shows some improvment and she/he earned a lot of points with me tearing off Figure's arm

How often can i pick Alita?

#1 Alita the three best versions imho: imaginos v2 pre tail, virtual alita, brand new bioprint
2nd Nova gotta love flan - the mad genius / arch nemesis
3rd Deckman #10 #100
4th FrauX dark Erica is so cool and mysterious really looking forward to see her in action again.
5th Landa Nam Nam best name

interesting (lack somewhat in action, story and/or depth): vector, limeira, zazie
caerula i like the char, but vampires for real?! imho scfi and vampires is too much and i didn't enjoy the frozen arc too much.
koyomi no vampire but too much focus.
ido, yugo, ping, kaos, bunnies, roscoe... too wimpy
sechs, zekka, Figure Four too macho
boring: Lou, Kayna, den, Arthur
really dislike: Mbadi, FF, Muster, Payne, Tzikrow

They are almost ordered by powerlevel, ido would never be tier 2 tho.

My favourite Alitas: tuned agent, berserk body (1st volume only), enhanced imaginos body (Fada Morgana and white hole equipped), imaginos body;
I may add the Alitas that I dislike: the rebellious adolescent (motorball) and Yugo's bitch.

Other characters that I specially like:
Frau X/Erica (the adult, not the brat);
Caerula/Vilma (in spite of the vampire nonsense);
Jashugan;
Ido;
Gerda (I surely would like her more if she had more "screen time").

How about best foes?
Nova (obviously);

Aga Mbadi/Trindad (he is a villain that inspires real fear, the mightiest that crossed Alita's path, his strenght comes from his intellect and huge experience, not from brawling skills, in spite of he is an accomplished martial artist and a man who has complete control of his body and mind. Plus I like his backgrond as an old fashioned space hero, like Perry Rhodan or Flash Gordon, and how he was corrupted by the power.);
Makaku,
Den;
Zapan.

This is my favorites:
#1. Desty Nova and his clones, especially FlaNova

#4. Muster

Oh it's worth to mention the memorable "clowns" of the series: Deckman #10, Tigel, Sechs, Tzykrow, Rakan

Gally's still on top for me
Nova's the second, IMO he's more of a driving point in the story than Gally herself.
Erica definitely grew on me over time, so I'd put her third. She's a crazy evil that isn't fodder and the manga just need that from time to time since Nova is now sooo grey area.
