Well he is still healthy and fine, he has made a merch store:
https://market.orilab.jp/user/5d3817e2692d2
It's for his dogs and he finish volume 7 cover page and he also made a dog video
https://youtu.be/mFicy1DX2u4 this also has little insight of how he drew 36.2.
as for 37 it should be out on december most likely, given 37 releases on japan autumn months meaning it will most likely. I'm just worried about the chapter after 37 that it would probably be released on july 2021 or something. Takehiko inoue's REAL has a more stable schedule than this.

Or even worse, two chapters of the current length - that is, halves of chapters - per year. :/
...I guess it's better than nothing? And, well, even with one chapter per year I will never drop any Alita/Gunnm series.

Maybe this is how he retires, which would be kind of funny to anyone else but us here

Retiring with an ongoing manga left behind? I must quote warhammer 40.000:
What is the fear of death? to die knowing your work is unfinished. What is the joy of life? to die knowing your work is complete.

Or, to paraphrase a certain poet:
this is the way Gunnm ends
not with a bang but a whimper
I mean, I hope not...

Kishiro had said his goal this year is to create manuscripts more quickly and better and will try to release volume 8 of gunnm mars chronicle (5 or 6 chapters) by the end of 2021 according to his blog anyway

Also this is his new year illustration as he does this tradition every year

Happy New Year.
I think he screwed up with the Necro-soldiers and the whole power balance in the future world.
The Necro-soldier basic concept is .... pretty weak compared to Zapan's resurrection or EElai's digital simulation to flesh or even the Orouborous concept. I would have been happy if Mars was all prequel, years of Fast Times at Panzer Kunst High.
Where did we leave off in the future? Caerula certainly wasn't blown up and Queen Limeira is probably a necro-baddie...
I loved Zott and ending on Figure and Flesh-Alita's reunion is going to be tough to match or beat. I wish Mars was all prequel instead of the split...
He is clearly not motivated.

More then that, possibly Supernova will come out with a "cure" for the necro-soldier status. That would restore Limeira, if not Erika who might die in a redemption sacrifice. In that case, the whole necro-soldiers idea would have been pretty pointless.
And wouldn't, by the way, a plain and simple brainchip replacement be, itself, a countermeasure to the necro-soldier condition? Well, of course, there is the implication that the brainchip would actually be a different person, as more of the time pointed in the story arcs with few exceptions.

The wait is officially over the series is returning in January 26th. About the same time berserk is returning
Anyway here is the official picture in yukito's blog as proof for those who aren't convince.
Now whether you're excited or not that's up to, but I personally invested too much waiting time in this series to give up. 7 years of reading this, hope it will have a more frequent schedule, to keep us reading at least.
Also is it just me or did the art seem to improve compared to before, much more shading than ever, when you compare to the first chapter of mars chronicle there weren't a lot of shading before.

"Also is it just me or did the art seem to improve compared to before"
Well he did have a shitton of time to do that chapter...
I blame the pug dogs being too needy.
But it is good news a new chapter is on the way.

Well, he sure had time to draw the panels

Jokes apart, wasn't he learning to draw and colour by tablet? Maybe that open new options for his art.

Actually you are correct, he replace his old retro technology with new one, and that gave him more choices for his art, there was even a tutorial for it, he even use a special kind of glove for his right hand for drawing lately

Give up!?!?? I am 46. Been reading since 94ish.
This is half the fun of being a Gunnm fan.
Shoot, I half hope he throws out a book again, just to make things better.

Well, seems like it hasn't returned yet after all, haha. (What about Berserk?)
But yeah, I would never drop the series. Gunnm was the first manga series I fell in love with - Gunnm and LO are still among my top favourites - and I've been following Gally's adventures since the first series was published in my country (2003). Hell, I remember learning how to use IRCS programs a bit just to be able to download chapters of Last Order and Trigun (both only started getting published here last year, and for a long time I wasn't able to afford importing the official English editions).
Re: art - yeah, it does look like an improvement, though I'd still like him to return to his early LO style. Mars Chronicle looks too cartoony for me.

Looks like it. Haven't found any raws or mentions of the chapter being released. I'm too lazy to go through the hassle of buying the e-version of Evening, but the newest issue was indeed released on the 26th and its cover doesn't mention Gunnm. No mention of Kasei Senki in the most recent news on their site, either.
