If I wanted to see an intimating villain I would have gotten for Darth Vader, way cooler and more menacing, a big baddie done well

Lol man, why do you always have to compare MC to other things. Vader was pretty goofy and some sort of the main villain, but this guy here is some third rate creature, who introduced the interesting concept that most likely will be expanded further (if such a thing was underdeveloped at that time, it could be turned into something interesting in the present time, after so many years... Dasein keeps being mentioned, so that will probably be the case) and also has his own decent goal, which should be sufficient for the third-rate character so far. Not to mention how Gunnm has always had such goofy creatures.

That is the problem the fact that he is third rate and so are all of the MC villains so far in the past, I mean I am a pretty reactionary person in general, my opinions can be premature at times(I sincerely mean that as I bitch alot about slow starts only to be proven wrong later as it happens with stuff i read or watch), you are not wrong though that gunnm does have goofy creatures, but I like how the villains before gave a good challenge to the heroes, but this guy all he is doing is slaughtering padawans and not jedis(pardon the star wars reference) and that doesn't seem impressive to me if I wanted an intimdating bounty hunter-esque villain I would have gotten predator or terminator(cool sci fi baddies). But I should temper my expectation as this guy has not made a long enough appearance yet to give a more a solid opinion as it is a first impression and opinions can sometimes change well it applies to me at least.

Still you are allowed to voice your disagreements as that is what discussions are all about, all part of the fun if you ask me

Predator is cool too, but I do like how it is not taking itself too seriously. For this guy, it's probably better to not face the group of our strong Kunstler's head-on - would be smarter and gives a bit of build-up for the fated encounter. Need the text if there was actual reasoning behind this attack, though.

MC being full of third-rate villains? Hmm, guess that's true and fair, but I do like its 'adventurous' feeling. I hope these guys won't get discarded

Well if I come off as being too pessimistic you are right, but I guess that is just me being anxious in general, but one aspect I do like about Mars chronicles is its worldbuilding and lore as that is the main selling point for me and also it's rich history in its timeline labelled via the era sputnik calendar system I admit I do like the mystery aspect(get baited by these very easily as i get curious many times) as well though that could completely change to complete hatred if it fails to payoff like other manga with sucky payoffs , the other aspects are something I am not thinking as much anymore cause clearly it is not going to display those aspects anytime soon when they will arrive no one knows but kishiro and kodansha.

Yeah MC is building-up in a way that it either gonna have a highly satisfying pay-off or a complete train-wreck.
Although Kishiro seems to be doing whatever he really wants, so I would like to believe that he has enough freedom to finally be able to reach that satisfaction

the creator has confirmed in a french interview that this series is not going to end for a long time at least 30 volumes and he said it himself he knows where the story is going including how the series will end, whether the audience will like it or not only time will tell over a decade to be precise.
