Another good news is that he finished chapter 47-51 over a month ago according to his blog. I think he is currently working on 52 atm or that might be done recently too

Amazon has Battle Angel Alita Mars Chronicle 10 up for pre-order. October 8th 2024 ( one page short strip about publishing pressures inbound ).

Phew, this felt like a close one.

Awesome, I sure hope we are back on track this time!!

Edit: And there are even both halves of #47! I hope he'll ditch the half-of-a-chapter formula, tho.

I hate that structure too, noragami did the same thing which ended january which was a disappointing ending but i digress.

I think the half chapter thing might be related on how many pages he has available on the magazine.

Yeah, it wasn't the worst (I've had some of my favourite manga series end in a much more underwhelming way, e.g. Blade of the Immortal), but it felt rushed and there just wasn't that feeling of finality that a good ending should have (I suppose BAA/Gunnm, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, Dungeon Meshi, or Golden Kamuy would be examples of well done endings). Not to mention that the whole final confrontation felt too chaotic and somewhat confusing - pretty sure at least partially thanks to that half-chapter formula.

I'm not saying that he's at fault; I just hope that he abandons it now that he's publishing online. If not, I think I'll start waiting for the other half befire reading the first one. I waited so long for this series to resume that waiting a bit more between reading new chapters of the manga won't change much.

Maybe it's a marketing strategy? Part 1 is free and part 2 is paywalled. But I hope he starts releasing whole chapters (if he is actually working on it seriously). Always felt like the parts broke the flow.

It feels too abrupt imho as it ends too quickly and doesn't feel complete yet. I guess it is why some people read it in tankoban form as it feels more complete.
