I've already seen the explanation somewhere, but I cannot remember it.
Why did Kishiro restart the narrative of Gunnm?
I mean, we would have to consider the volume nine of the first series just up to page 155 and forget the rest if we want Last Order to make sense.
What is exactly the explanation?

it's not "we would have to consider", but "we have to"
Gunnm first serie was ended quickly, by editor's pressure and (not sure of that) Kishiro's illness at the time.
This end must be forgotten for good, now he is writing the real story he intended from the start, without pressure

The fact is that the first 'end' doesn't appear in the Gunnm complete edition. ^^
