I particularly love the tail so ^^b

I hate tail, it's ridiculous. Looked better without it.

I like Alita's (or Catlita's) new appearance. I always thought she looked pretty, but I also enjoy how she gained back some of her "cuteness" from the original series after she was resurrected. This was sorely missing from the early parts of LO imo.

As for her tail: I always thought that was just a part of her new trenchcoat, but time will show.

thumb down, now that she doesn't do anything at all in the story, and that she doesn't do any real character development, he put on her a tail to say "Hey! Lo! Big news! She has a tail!".

I don't like the tail either. Hopefully it's just a temporary thing.

I like the tail, even though it would have worked better with some cat ears. (Either true cat ears or some haircut effect, like yuroichi in bleach.)

I didn't like the new outfit at first, but now that I'm used to it, it's OK.
On the other hand, I'm really happy with her new mindset. More direct and impulsive, less complexed and emo. It will probably not last forever, but I currently really like her new form.
I'm very eager to her in action, too, because I'm kinda tired of karatekas for now.

I think, Kishiro is mocking her somehow by this tail. Maybe to ease the tense of the storyline and to switch attention from it for some time. Hope it's not for long.

Unlikely, Kishiro envisioned Alita as cat-like. She's a very small fighter that relies on agility and speed to take down bigger opponents. That image has been repeated time and time again in this series. If you would recall her experience in BA, Nova captured her mind and placed it in an illusory world where she wasn't a warrior. The symbol of her fighting spirit was a black cat. I can safely say that neko-Alita is here to stay...unless Kishiro intends to pay homage to Dragonball and goes chop chop...

Well I actually hated Alitas new look at first but in time its really grew on me now i think she looks really good.

The tail doesnt bother me either in some way it actually fits her due to all the cat references in her life i.e. being named after Idos cat

Most importantly, the tail is cute. Her new look is a vast improvement over the skin tight attire she's been sporting for the majority of BAA: LO. On an off-topic note, does anyone else think her tail is prehensile?

I don't think she can grab with this thing. For a usable tail it should be longer. And it moves wrong. So, either the tail only is for cuteness (I think she is cute enough for this stupid stuff) or Koshiro is just not good enough to draw it right . The latter could be true when I remember the short fight where she used it. It was drawn awfully wrong. He is really good in drawing motions of normal bodies, or even of strange cyborgs. But he really has no feeling for the tail at the moment. Probably it was invented by his brother - wasn't it his brother who helps with the series?

We will see what the future brings. And please no cat ears. I love cat ears, but Alita is no pinup

thubs down. alita never had need such stuff i wonder why she got it now.

I hope too that the tail is only a temporary thing. Perhaps there will be a fight where an enemy tears of the tail like i saw it in another series.

Thumbs really down. Tail isn't good with her anyway, it looks like something from a different story, from some fantasy maybe, it is inappropriate for her. Also, the coat doesn't suit her. It would suit some elve from some fantasy (LOTR, TES4:Oblivion), but NOT HER. She has always been known in some tight fit clothes, which emphasize her forms, but not this.

I'd like to point out that she has worn coats before, if you remember way back in the original BA. They even released a toy: http://www.animetion.co.uk/Battle%20Ang ... andise.htm

Vol 1-2 coat - was perfect with her.
V7 dress - just for plot, does not fit at all
V8 - for only one chapter, not her style.

New thing - awfull in all aspects, and tail is silly and ridiculous. Not for her at all, even if idea was from the beginning, it is inappropriate in the way it is.

Well, she technically is a robot now. >.>; ...unless the brain chips possess some unknown biological aspects which Kishiro has conveniently failed to mention...
I suppose Kishiro wanted to differentiate BA:LO from the original. The story is less in the cyberpunk genre than sci-fi right now, so her clothing reflects that. Although, I do miss the days when Alita carried around a massive switchblade and fought giant samurai robots.

Tail = better balance . So it will be usefull, and not bad looking, btw . And i think couse Gally got part of Tunguska body, she got his body structure - costume, tail, wormhole generator, beam cannon (yea, i hope XD )...

Tunguska event took place today 100 years ago. Still, they dont know for sure, what it was. (I thought this was the best thread to post that...)

the outfit:

I dont like her super big boots (not good with her agile behaviour) and I'm not into catgirls, so the tail isn't my cup of tea either. Her coat looks ok, but I hope she undresses in a tough fight, for better mobility.
But the tail seems to be attached to the coat and the x-ray panel showed, that the tail was a real body part. So dont tell me, the coat ist part of her body too

Probably. But she's probably going to change her outfit for something more practical when necessary. At least grow some forearm blades.
I'd lol if she keep the tail and grow cat ears for the occasion.

Actually I don't like her new image... Not only outfit or tail thing, but I miss old 'octo' as somebody said Alita. For me the plot has been going wrong way for about last five chapters. More and more overhyped, petastrong omega invincible characters.. But still my fav manga. Hope it will come back at the right rails soon.
