So. Karate vs venus match is about to begin that's right. I hope it's not gonna drag to much into flashbacks...
When is the full chapter released by the way? 1-2 weeks?
I'm really impatient.
Former chapter was nice, but quite short in term of content.

Off course there will be tons of flashbacks, we still didn't get any from lobster karate guy and from the gesigner, and there have to be other venusian team member, and we still don't know anythng of homme de feu's adult age and about the robot-nurse, so lots of flashbacks still to see :PPPPPPP

I wish we could see more of elf and zwolfs' past, especially the fight against seechs. I wonder if they turned loopy on thier own or if nova changed them?

I'd say they probably didn't fight against Zechs. I can see sechs chasing them for days, while they just run an hide, maybe laying traps on the way. but no direct confrontation for sure. All of this ending with Zechs giving up chasing them because they have no value as warrior. And 2 month after, she's hired by Nova, along with the 2 others. Could probably be worthy of a 3-4 pages flashback, but no more.

Also isn't it said somewhere they ended as singers in some sort of bar?(haven't my books to check right now)

Didn't sechs lose an arm to their monomolecular wire? It's not surprising they became singers considering gally might have continued her singing career if zapan hadn't gone berzerk

In a kind of topless bar, if i don't recall badly, yet i'm pretty sure that sechs had her/his arm replaced by her/his own will, who wouldn't trade one for a solenoid quench gun? :D

Yep Sechs said that in volume 2 when they tried to catch that big hulking monster into the wires, so Nova could salvage the brain chip.

About the singing in a bar, regarding Elf and Zwölf, Sechs told that Gally in volume 5, followed by Gally saying that they sing well, just theire songtext are horrible.

Strangly or maybe not Sechs also seems to have got a bit of Gallys voice tallent, as we could see against Springfoot Jack, when she immitated his voice.

To the opening page of this chapter. I loved how it looked like the stadium would be crowded again, but then we see its only a few sitting in one row.
I guess most people didn't trust the protection for the viewers anymore.

So many characters without an explained past…
Why did Daisuke leave Tiphares? What about Nova and Kaos' childhood?
So, why do you think Homme du Feu deserves especial treatment?

u have right Sergio..

im worried that it will start lookin like Bleach when about 80 pages are spent for dramatic intros and other bullshit.. with almost none of swordplay.. last time i revised almost all Bleach manga and i found myself that only funny to read where fragments with Zaraki.. sadly he has only 2 fights in whole manga .. but they are sooo juicy .. so much blood so much brute force i like it !

Lets hope LO will not end in this manner

I have read one volume of Bleach only, and it was enough.
A friend of mine insists that I should read One Piece. I have read volume 1 and will try volume 2, but actually I am completely intolerant about poor literature. If Gunnm is distorted that way, I will have to suicide.

One Piece is just loooooooong — it had evolved as far as Gunnm in 10 years that it publishes. You cannot say that it's a poor fiction — it's just shonen manga — not adult manga as gunnm is — it's in a different league. However, Oda Eichiro sometimes praised to be a genius of shonen...
Plus... One Piece has poor beginning — if you've get attached to OP, than since 10+ volume it will blow up your mind, if not — and reading without enjoyment — you won't feel the difference.

I can agree with that.
Imo One Piece is by far the best one of the current big 3 in the shonen segment (Bleach, OP, Naruto). It has its own very great moments of emotion. There are sad moments, i.e. when the past of a crew member is revealed (especially the female crew members). And imo Oda truly can transport the feeling of a free life, sailing on the sea, experiencing adventures, happy time.
But it is long indeed, 50 volumes, ongoing and the story indicates, that its just half time now. But like hepar said, if you have the time, read until vol. 10. If you dont like it then, you wont like it later on.

@dramatic intros and other bullshit:
Think of GUNNM not as a monthly manga, but as a tankoubon. When it comes out in our contries some day, we will all be glad to have a good, consistent story with some background infos even about the enemys. One or two months seem to be long, but one or two chapters in a tankoubon is rather short.
Also, do you know "20th Century Boys" by Urazawa? Its finished, so you can read it in a row, but if you know it, imagine reading THAT with a monthly delay. I would had explode by all the detours but now its an awesome piece of art and suspense

I wonder if Oda just made fun of Kishiro here :D

20th Century Boys is a masterpiece, simply.
Fortunately, when I was introduced to it, it was already complete. I could not stop reading. Man, Urasawa does know how to seduce readers.

Hey, did he really have to change the title in the last two volumes? Some people say he made that because the publication had entered the new century. To me, it was complete nonsense. But one thing is certain: great work!!!

Yeah! It seems you are right! The point is: he is not making fun; it is a sort of homage.

Hehe, I thought the same at the scene on the bottom right ;)

@21st: I dont know either. I thought he changed it because the story setting was in the 21st century already. I have to read it again someday, besides the story, its so full of homages to old songs and stuff... Im not that into 70s music, so I dont get many of the hints.
