Also, only 2€ per volume? That's pretty cheap. How his the actual quality of these?

I think they're just a chapter/phase apiece, but I could be wrong. It would certainly explain their cheapness...

Considering the covers, each volume was divided in two.
The price is explained.

The strangest cover so far is 12. Shouldn't that be like volume 4 or something?

There are 3 chapters each volume. The quality is good, but I am not sure what you mean. Is possible that there are low quality images? (I have to compare my volumes with your scans).
Often the covers don't recall the story inside the volume.

Quality: I think HumanRage once posted an example of the french volume at the descripion of Tiphares (Jeru). Onion Ring and so on. The translation was a little confused and the cleaning and typesetting wasn't the best, too. How's your translation and typesetting?
Its kind of a weird idea to split each volume in two but on the other hand you get some more cool covers. I like the extra covers #2, #6 and #14, yeah

Do you have the summary and character introducing- site at the beginning of every volume or is it in just every second vol.?

So you get more smaller books instead of a good ol' 200 pages format?
Weird, it wouldn't feel like reading a manga for me.
Speaking of the covers, 14 is the weirdest IMO.
Also seeing kishiro's current artworks production, the next volumes covers may be hard to find. More Black and white maybe?
And yes, when I asked for the quality, it was more about the global quality of the print and translation. For instance, French print quality is decent, but the image edition is poor (flipped pages, no coloured pages, badly photoshopped translated text in the backgrounds, etc.), and the translation is sadly, subpar.

I have the summary and character introducing every volume, so I can read it every time. I like the extra covers too! The quality of the print seems good and the translation is ok, but I don't have something to compare with. I haven't find any error. Maybe English translation is better, but I haven't read it yet.
The pages are 90\100 each volume.
The other covers are these:

Unfortunally I don't have the last three volumes yet.
Now, Planet Manga is reprinting the volumes, the first one has the same cover, but the second one is different. It looks like this:
I like it too, but I prefer the second one of my collection.

Like any foreign editors, they buy preexisting material, but can't really commision anything.
Imagine if Kishiro had to make special material for like 10 countries in addition of his current job?
not gonna happens.
Kishiro making more artworks would kick ass, though. His gallery doesn't update that much recently.

Well Akino Matsuri drew some covers for russian edition of PSoH. Considering that Kishiro making 30 pages in 30 days I can tell that that's not that imposible. I'm not asking him to do it for free though.

You thought Mbadi was WHITE? Are you serious? His hair's white from all the pictures we've seen of him. His skin, by contrast, is many shades darker.
Foiga just has a desert-living kind of tan, there.

How many often your volumes came up in your nation?
And how much they cost?
Here, in Italy, we aren't very lucky: the last 4 volumes took 2 years to came out.

I mean not black as a chimneysweep. Arab and indians are brighter.

Here in Germany we're quite lucky, Carlsen Comics (german publisher) is up to Vol. 10, vol.11 is coming out this november, as seen here:
http://www.carlsen.de/web/manga/buch?tn=179111
Vol.10 also came out this year, therefor I guess vol.12 will follow spring '09.

The name + the art was a big giveaway IMO. But maybe you just live in an area with few african immigrant people.
About the french publication rate, Glénat seemed to have some problem with the Gunnm license, and only plan to release volum 10 for november. After that, they used to publish one volume every 6 month. I hope they'll continue like that.

Yes I am

So I don't get used to complete black people. But we have plenty of middle-asian and caucasian people here, so I thouht he will have skin like they do. In this picture Vector & Mbadi has almost the same colour.

Well, the story of italian edition is briefly so:
BAA was first edited by Granata Press in ugly volumes about half the size of one original volume, but G.P. went to crack and closed, leaving publication uncompleted.
Later it was released again, i think from StarComics, i wouldn't bet on it, this time to the end. As they very often do volumes had been splitted in two, because in Italy comics are supposed to be cheap stuff, so BAA has been publisced in 18 volumes instead of 9.
Later again, when BAALO was out they re-released BAA in a big volume edition (pretty nice) which also contained some of the extra stories (supersonic fingers, xmas carol, deckman50's escape), some note from kishiro and also a collection of sketches and artworks from the videogame project Memories of Mars. It has been published in 12 volumes without the original ending and the chapters were distribuited the hell way that suited them
As for the latest edition covers they are all 3D graphic, that i just checked, should be from a certain yasuaki ihara or maybe mitsuwo shiiba
Right now BAALO is being released a year about later then in japan in volumes which are the original volumes splitted in two.
