As from the title, is there any idea about how many volumes are supposed to be released yet? Has Kishiro said anything about it?

He hasn't said anything about how long it gonna be.

My guess are 20-25 volumes.

The fact is that Last Order should have been on the past of Gally, which means Mars, so in some way it hasn't started yet. ^^'

Seeing the serie current speed, I'd say that we'll have at least 15-20 more volumes until the story ends. Including 2-3 more side stories like he did with Caerulea.

I hope far less then that, that would mean another 10 about years of pubblication, i don't want to read manga together with my sons

I knew, someone would bring up this topic someday... Terrifying to think about it, it's the saddest idea... I hope it'll long until Kishiro dies... or never end at all. For me, even a thought about it being over is already a nightmare... Also, it's Kishiro's milk cow, his fortune. Without it he will have nothing to do, he has spent a really big part of his life inside it, as it was said in LO4 end comix, "his alternative world"... I don't think he would be able to go back to mangas he did before. You see, even if we got attached to it and it somehow become our "alternative world", what impact it did on it's author... and I think, he understands it.

Let's hope it'll long 50 more volumes, or never end at all...

What makes a Great* manga, is its ending. Wether we want it or not, its gonna end (i say in 10-15 more volumes) and its gonna be one of the greatest manga endings in history!!! must be!!!

well let's see were not even at the end of zott in vol 12 so umm we need and ending to that 2 more volum's <books>
one about sech's finding him/herself
another about earth and kaos and the girl's blabla
then like 4 about alita meeting people that can help her under stand her past and doned to be future <last order>.

then prob i'd say 5 more volume's about her fighting to get the fata mongora back, im sure she'll lose it one way or another.the the final big ending about 3 book's all in one <mang'a people lie to make a fatty book <<hence the first run of alita>> > so ummm about 13 more book's id say and i feel it will end with again alita dieing for the human's,but she's not realy dead reborn karma you know!!
wow what alot to say. but yes every good manga need's and ending!!!

As long as it's not gonna be some shitty ending as in Gunnm, I'm happy with any ending, and as Kishiro doesn't seem to be rushed or being rushed he shall make a satisfying ending this time.

Well, if he doesn't speed up the story sooner or later sells will drop and there will be another pinocchio ending or maybe just suspended indefinitely (forever)

Sales won't drop for anyone I know!

Naruto can have 600 pages of filler and people will still buy it. We Gunnm fans are smarter than that, and we still buy it.

Do you mean the interlude in volumes 8 and 9?
As far as I know, there is no "side story" with Caerula, but I agree it is a good definition.

Yes. I could totally seen Kishiro taking another pause in the storyline and make some stuff like that again. A 2 volumestory about Mars, with a all the Panzer Kunst history would rock IMO.
I'd love to see Fogia and Chaos again, too. Maybe in some end chapters like in Volume 2 .

I too think, its over when its done. I just hope that he includes some older protagonists again someday but that sure will happen.

And besides, he does have other things to do after GLO. I want to see the outcome of Aqua Knight as well.

Let's hope it goes on as long as it needs to go for it to be an awesome series when looked at as a complete whole.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's common for authors to create expectations.
It's also common for readers to be curious about the answers.
The only stupidity I can see here is to follow something without questions.

As for me i'm reading Alita since 95, and i'm pretty sick of it I'd like to finally see the end

I daresay the usage is already ridiculous enough in Spanish. There's no need to export such a perversion to other cultures.

Ok, that is completely off topic, but the ¿ is not ridiculous. Like the german ä, ß or french ê or whatever, it may sound and look a bit funny (no doubt ) but it has its sense. I can't speak spanish but I would assume the ¿ was invended to see beforehand, if its an interrogative- or an exclamation sentence.
Languages have different terms for pointing out questions, i.e. with my poor knowlegde of the japanese language I can tell, that they end sentences with "desu" and questions with "desu ka". The ? came from western languages, before that they didnt use ? at all.

Also, I assume you don't have ¿ in portuguese . I always thought so, thanks for this advice.^^
