What about Lou?

It just struck me as I re-read all of last order again... When Alita gets Omni Consectumed by Super Nova, she has Ruw's brain in the box, and she took it down with her to Robot Asyl. It's right there next to her as the Melchizedek Arthur look-alike gives her his peptalk.

Alita got ressurected, but the rescue mission that had been the point since the very first issue of last order was something of a success, so why haven't there been any mention at all of Ruw?

Well, the brain has been left in the care of Deckman 100, last we saw it. It will probably stay that way until the tourney's over. I imagine the Space Angels' primary concern right now is gaining the independence of Tiphares and the Scrapyard, so that Lou will have a place to go back to. :)

Actually, just a few days have passed since Alita's death, so Lou (for God's sake, Ruw is misstransliteration) was not forgotten. Also, it seems that ZOTT is finally over, so…

Any western name sounds cuter when pronounced by a japanese person.

And it just seems strange to me that alita is shedding tears all over the place trying to save Lou and then go all blasé when she's finally got her. Not to mention the sudden absence of the SS impersonator posing as her "ghost" or her mental breakdown about having a chip for a brain. She just shifted gears waaay too quickly.

It doesn't sound strange at all if you consider that she had a serious difficulty (she was dead) and then had to rebuild herself (from Tunguska, what doesn't seem to be easy, I think). Since she was reborn, just some hours have passed. So, let's be patient.

But you made me ask you something serious: do cyborgs cry? Even Toji is shown shedding tears. Do they have lachrymatory system?

Well, Gally did say she was feeling quite weird since her resurection.
Maybe her past will come again next time she get the focus of the story again.
Plus she also needs Nova to resurect her completly (even though I could imagine Deckman 100 giving Lou a temporary cyborg body. A little interactive interface like Zechs would be cute and funny I guess.)
I'm also curious about the real brain of Gally. It has been sent with the other after all. I wonder what the "dream" look like.

im sure we will see a sad part when lou get's her body "remember when nova had the frozed body im sure he can clone it or has it stored away waiting for the brian. but once luo i alive again alita will <saddly even being told lou wont know her> will try to act like's it's good old lou, but also i was thingk'in a realy wier twist would be that lou the brian one actuly know's a lot about alita's past. dundundun!!! but lost that info when she was given a chip???

they wait to win the zott, they don't have the tech, nova on zalem have it, and they have a deal he will rebuild her no ?

plain and simple

but i must admit i don't think resurecting a fleshbrain, prior-meeting-gally, lou is a good idea

gally : "hi, you don't know me, but we just resurected you the way you were before the adult ritual of zalem extracted your brain, for you to die x years after that, two months ago. i resurected you because you died by helping me, as we developed a very close relationship during my missions - oh and by the way i'm today the most powerful combat cyborg being in the solar system, and my name is gally :) "
lou :

yeah, good idea, no doubt

If it played out that way I'd imagine her head would explode

They need a Cybermedic or Nova's nanotecnology to resurrect Lou, and don't forget that ladder is about to order the extermination of Earth's surface population, so i guess winning the ZOT is a more concerning matter right now.

since she can win the zott (by nano cheat if no other way, or plasma beam), trinidad called for damocles, who should be something like "ladder decides so, and so it is"

this situation is a real mess, undomitable warrior meets undomitable political mastermind ...

Please , the whole let's rescue Lou's brain is pretty much the most far fetched thing in the whole battle angel universe , more far fetched than telling your friends something like "I'm reading this manga where an electromagnetic karate master is fighting i giant dong-wielding nanomachine monster from mercury" . "Let's save Lou's brain" , seriously it reminds of that movie , they saved Hitler's brain , or i cloned Hitler's feet (but that has no connection) from Flaming carrot.
But jokes aside if they brought Lou back it wouldn't be the same person , whole new character most likely a crazy one , the place where the people of ketheres where dumping their dreams was the tipharen brain storage unit , also those brains were being used as components of Melchizedek , so imagine the new Lou being something like a nightmare plagued avatar of Melchizedek .
If i was in Alita's place i would just keep kicking Nova's ass & order him to create something capable of bringing back Lou's memory chip.
Let me tell you something really cooler as a plot element than Lou's brain , you have Nova the AR series & Alita smoking weed , Nova says that his nanomachine made weed is the real reason he had to leave tiphares , that stuff would just be too strong .
During the sessions of chillin' they see a tv add that advertises for the ketheres restaurant , & everybody gets the munchies like all weed smokers & decide to embark on the journey we have seen in the last 9 volumes , kinda like Karl & Kumar go to whitecastle.
You can just see everything going all meaningless right now , the space angels & ping go to the z.o.t.t. merely because the restaurant they want to dine at is on the other side of the fighting arenas.
Super Nova is actually Afro Nova who has exchanged karmatron theory for Rastatron theory , Col. Payne is merely part of Alita's bad acid trip , etc .
Then when Alita is reconstructed from Tunguska her thoughts are something like , "where is this going anyway , it feels like my body is being reconstructed from nanomachines & i have a wormhole generator from the jovian federation in my chest , what kind of weed was that , it's been several months & i'm still high , damn that nano-weed is good "
After that they win the z.o.t.t. & go to mars & many volumes later they wake up & realize they were just hallucinating .
So that was Battle Angel : The last Stoner ... urm i mean order

Summing things up having the Lou's brain issues as the plot element for all that's just happened makes just as much sense as what Hunter S. Thompson went through in Las Vegas , that inspired him to write Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas .

Now that was off topic.
