Pictures I found on a website! I thought they might be linked to a book none of us knew anything about, and was wondering if any of us had a clue.

Check this out, it is in yukitopia gallery:

I have noticed it about 1.5 years ago and didn't have any guesses about it. Now it makes sense.

It seems we have to look for it.
I'll check my Japanese manga store here in São Paulo.

Give names to the cows. What novel are you talking about?

Judging from Alita's body in these pictures, they're somehow related to Volume 5, or period between vol.4 and 6. Maybe they're some failure versions of extra stories, or just some alternative plot of vol.5, which was replaced by vol.5 storyline we all know. Or maybe Kishiro didn't see a way to continue story after the storyline of that (let's call it alternaive) version, so it was re-written in order to let the story continue.
These were just my guesses, noting to do with reality. Maybe, I'm close to the truth, who knows, but these pictures are definitely insane, that's for sure =))).

I thought this red haired women was a Tipharean that only appeared in the movie -- but its long ago since I last saw the BAA Anime, I might just confuse things. Or was she in the "Gunnm Martian Memories" Game?
The other pictures are very interesting. For the clothing, the fourth picture looks like out of Vol.01 but the others are hard to say.
"gunnm novel" is the alternative text behind all pictures in the gallery:

But what is the gunnm novel? I want it anyways! ^^

It's called Gunnm Gaiden (Dream of a gun)
Published by Jump J Books 1997 in Japan) ISBN-10: 4087030598
It's a novel written by Kawamura Yasuhisa and illustrated by Kishiro
4 illustrations are in colour , the rest i b/w
Some illustrations are on the Yukitopia website.
Sorry if I confused you. Had to edit and correct this...
Theres also a second Gunnm Gaiden (Another Stories) published 2007
This one has 4 manga short stories.

Does the ^Ripper's team plan on translating this side story like they did Bashaku Ando?
This would be really great... A lost part, as it seems...

Right now
^Ripper's Anime is in search of a translator. Translating
Gunnm is not a work for amateurs, and we have lots of phases waiting, so that book would have to wait, anyway.

No, my manga store does not have it here in stock.
They say I could order it, but it would arrive in February only.
I will have to try someone in Japan. There are lots of dekasegis there, after all.

It would have to be a VERY GOOD FRIEND.
Its a book. Not a manga.
200 pages of just text with only a couple of illustrations.
Know a fan who studies Japanese language and literature at the university? Might make a good Masters work.
Mentor and copyright holders allowing.
