Alita gets more and more superpowers.
First, her new body must be invincible or something and now she even has hacking skills(?) that surpass Trinidad.

I don't think she'll stay like this forever, though. Especially since she's not the "real" Gally. But it's enjoyable so far.
Also is it me, or the art of this chapter looks a little "off"? I'd like to say it's because of the scan quality, but overall the faces looks less detailed than usual.

Well, do bear in mind that these are their "online" avatars, the pixleized, "inside-the-computer-world" representations. They're supposed to look less...defined, I believe.

Well, she could already nullify his hacking...now she's just doing it inside the online realm.
I think something will slow her down...I'm going to bet on any number of variables...Zekka (unlikely, but not impossible), Tzykrow (don't know what he's going to be packing when next we see him), Erica (or Frau X, whatever you'd like to call her), Toji (who, though not inherently a vengeful man, will fight hard for his Karate Planet; in this case the Scrapyard and Tiphares) and let's not forget Mbadi's trump card, the Sword of Damocles, whose capabilities we are not even dimly aware of yet.
I think he's just setting the stage for the biggest showdown yet. We're in the finals, after all, and given how many surprise appearances there have been during every match (Zazie and Alita's return during the Jovian Seed team conflict, Zekka appearing after Toji's initial throwdown, the arrival of Taraba before the Venusian match), we are likely to see any number of outcomes. I, for one, am finally excited again.

Thank you!
I only think that the last pic panel 3 Alita's face looks odd, like a diffrent char.
It's a tough phase to translate, becouse is hard to differ who says what, but i think the talk is very important for the whole story.
I like it to see the mighteest man beaten easily, by a force he didn't dream of. I hope that he can only watch what is coming.

I'm thinking that Cat Alita and Original Alita are eventually going to merge back together, as they did upon espcaping the Ouroboros Program.
And we knew already that she had acquired a quantum link to Melchizedek through the Fata Morgana, so it's really not terribly surprising that she's able to dominate the Cyber-realm.
What I'm waiting for is her realization that she's now unconciously re-writing reality.
That, as she was in the last phase of Battle Angel 9, she is "free to do whatever she desires".

WTF *THAT* is the Sword of Damocles?!? @_@
Errrrrr, I dunno why, but I was expecting something like a nice long shiny katana. Well, for those who haven't got it yet, the 4 AEIOUw/e spacecrafts are the Sword of Damocles. Right now they have gotten into formation but systems check are only 40% clear. Considering this is a day before the match... geez that's one long power up. That should rape the Jupiter beam.
Zekka gave us a tidbit. In the final match, he's gonna use the Dragon Slaying technique!
Arthur came to give Mbadi a warning. If Mubadi deploys the Sword of Damocles tomorrow, it will result in a cataclysmic catastrophe. Mbadi is an idiot tho. He's still saying the same thing. </facepalm> "Material world, I lost. Electronic Brain world, I am invincible. MORTAL ECLIPZZWait wtf" *proceeds to get raped*
So now, you can literally say Gally owns Mubadi even in her sleep.

Okay another talky chapter.
I don't have anything against that, but it makes me wonder if Yukito will manage to finish the series before another health crisis. I know i shouldn't say this but he isn't the youngest anymore and the series is only monthly.
Still better than comics though were one writer sometimes contradicts everything a previous one wrote.
Anyway, Alita beating Mbady was actualy more boring than cool for me. After all it was already established that the Fata Morgana gives her uber hacking ability and super nanon machines.
So this was just another beat down on another level for Mr. Trinidad.
Arthurs "memento" mentiong a similiarity between him and Mbady though looked intresting (both lost the woman they loved in a cold ice covered world and became bitter persons afterwards).
Also we got a glimps at what looks like the "Damocles Blade". Which makes me wonder if M-Bady tries to fire a big cannon at the fighters in the arena?
Looks like Zekka made some modifications on his body as the old man who created it was seriously surprised.
Talking about Zekka.
Anyone else noticed that there is a mirror situation on both teams with Zekka, Touji, Sechs and Gally?
Basicly Sechs and Touji and Gally and Zekka fill the same role. There is one younger person who wants to beat a superior older person.
Thinking about it with Gally's current über powers it would make more sense for her to directly engage Zekka.
In the most possible scenario it will end like this anyway (Gally beats Touji, Zekka beats Sechs and the two remaining ones fight each other in the end).
Still i'm open for a surprise.
By the way i really would like to finaly see what happend with Elf and Zwoelf since they were jumped on by the Perverted Karate master the last time we saw them and from what we saw earlier he has a liking for impaling woman (he tried it with Gally).

Really? I kinda figured it was supposed to be a codename for some extremely powerful doomsday-weapon. For a while I wondered if it could even be a character, one equipped with destructive Akira-like abilities. I guess it's functions are explained in this chapter through the conversation between Mbadi and Merlin. Maybe it's a scalar wave weapon like "Abaddon" that was used in vol. 8 of the original BAA.

I hear the same worries raised by fans of
Berserk who fears Kentaro Miura will die before he manages to finish it off. I don't think we should worry about this too much (doesn't Japan have one of the worlds highest life expectancies?).

Meh, he's only around 43 years old. That's not old.

I think that
Shueisha must have received a synopsis (well, I would require it if I were editing such a complex work) and if
Kishiro dies (even because no one is eternal), there will probably be someone prepared to finish
Gunnm - otherwise, intellectuals from all around the globe will menace to invade Japan in order to find the conclusion of the series.

I don't think Yukito Kishiro's health is in cause, but mostly his motivation. I could see him switch back to aqua knight for a while once the finals of Zott are done.

The Tunguska body seems powerful, but the confrontation here is virtual. Is it under the influence of fata morgana?

I liked the chapter nd these days I was re-reading all gummn from the start to the current point and man... I miss the good old days from teh scrapyard, jasagun and the motorball and such, those were the days. Now the series is still great, but I think it has lost it's touch, or it has changed and dosen't feel the same. I hope we soon know mroe about what happened to Kaos and the rest of the people back in the scrapyard. And what the hell happened to Figure Four? Wasn't Alita in love with him? I know a lot has happened but not so much time has passed (1,5 years as max?) since those to were together for the last time.
It maybe because alita now dosen't have her brain (or does she? Do I remember seeing her with her brain, her chipbrain and the fata-morgana all in her head?) but I think kishiro should wrap some of the old story threads before introducing new ones, and he seems to be introducing new ones each passing chapter!
Well, I hope it all makes somehow sense in the end...

I will help you invade it if that happens

Can't live without my GLO fix!
Other than that, it seems like I'm not the only one not really happy to see M'badi getting his ass kicked again, Sauer's summary really fits ("I'm the master in online realm, yadiyadiyadda, OMG WTF *proceeds to get raped*) and I find it kinda lame to lower such a great character to a victim because of Gally overpowered state. In general I find every attempt at hacking combat in Gunnm to be a bit too simplistic,... well maybe when we will understand what they are saying it won't seems that important.
Btw, I'm pretty sure Tzykrow will become the "anti-panzer kunst" warrior that was in the Gunnm video game.
Oh and dannythm, I kinda understand what you means, the "surviving warrior" feel of this period and the pure passion in Gally fights back in those days. Just take it as change, and GLO do introduce some good stuffs like all the technological goodies and the ZOTT (which I'm really starting to like, after all even in our world "sporting events" are serious stuffs).

@ Sauer:
IF the Sword of Damocles IS present in this phase then it's most likely the 5th, invisible, ship with the 4 New Order ones acting as a secondary armament/defense shield/power source/radar decoy...
Hard to believe no one here recognized AND mentioned it...

Other thing to mention:

déjà-vu ?
Btw, are Kishiro drawing skills worsening ?
