I've eventually ran into a new Zack Snyder's movie trailer on youtube.

Looks incredibly awesome, also the music fits perfectly - as expected from this director.

I've already added it to my "must watch when it comes out" list.

Looks like a great action movie! =D
Too bad it will released in march 2011. Long time until then.

I am a real sucker for Zack Snyders movies, Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Watchmen. All of them have I seen multiple times

I'm having trouble figuring out what it's about...but as long as it has dragons and katana-wielding women, it can't be bad, right?

IMDB:
A young girl is institutionalized by her wicked stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility

At russian movie site there is another description. I'll translate:

Action takes place at 1950. A young girl is sent to a mental asylym by her wicked stepfather, where she is lobotomized five days later. To survive the pain she dreams up an imaginary world, where she starts to plan her escape - she has to obtain five items.

I've watched 300 and I've found it... so boring and pompous, that's unbeleivable. I'd even say booooring and bombast. However, I've really liked the Watchmen. Infinitely liked.

Pompous, certainly! Boring? far from that. The narrative is great and the actors are convincing.
Unbelievable? Well, if you refer to the environment that mingles fact and legend, even King Arthur is unbelievable.

Well, I did like Watchmen, especially when compared to a crime of lese art as V for Vendetta, but I daresay Snyder could have made better if he hadn't changed the end of the story.

By the way: did you like Sin City?

Yes, I've liked Sin City. However, I've only watched it from the second attempt.

When I turned it on for the first time and watched the first several minutes, I've just closed the window and deleted it from my hard drive.
I didn't like the style - black and white with speckles of red, it looked overall idiotic to me. Also, the name of Tarantino (as an invited co-director) in the beginning of the movie put a giant cross at the whole movie for me. I hate his movies and style, they're pure trash. I've marked the movie as crap and forgot about it.

After about a year, I've started noticing people talking about it. Not that cattle, who liked the Transformers, but normal people with their own opinion. I've thought "well, even if they liked it, maybe there is something there" and downloaded it again. Then I've finally watched it and I was impressed, the movie has turned out great.

So, yes, I like it. And I'm waiting for Sin City2, which is scheduled for 2012.

Unbelievable? Well, if you refer to the environment that mingles fact and legend, even King Arthur is unbelievable.
You didn't get it, totally. It's even strange for me that you didn't recognize this linguistic construction due to your occupation.

X, that's unbeleivable.
It's so boring, that's unbeleivable. = It's unbeleivably boring = It's hard to beleive how boring that is.

Also, that is commonly used in the South Park against Cartman:
You're so stupid, that's unbeleivable.
You're such an asshole, that's unbeleivable.

And so on.

What about the 300 movie. I've liked the visual style, the voice of storyteller, Leonide (this is SPARTAAAAA!!!!), but I've found the movie itself so boring, that I wished it ends as soon as possible. At least, I won't watch it for the second time.

I've watched Sucker Punch yesterday.

Well, the visuals are brilliant, the direction is brilliant, the music matches perfectly to the visuals, but the plot... well, the plot speaks for itself - a delirium of a schizophrenic lobotomized girl.

And I didn't like the ending - it's original, but it's very very sad. However, the parallel between losing virginity and lobotomization is a genial and unique director's approach.

The only question I have is how did she produce a dream world if she was lobotomized? Lobotomized patients are physically devoid of any kind of thinking/high-level activity and complex behaviour, because their frontal lobes are physically cut off. Basically, they're vegetables, who even can't eat and poop by themselves.

Hey moooV,

You didn't really get the ending exactly. The world she creates actually takes place before she was lobotomized. If you remember well, one of the clinic members says that the doctor whose going to make it, is coming in 3 or 4 days something like that. Of course the movie starts with the doctor already about to lobotomize her but it happens only at the end. It's like in fight club but without saying that these are backward memories.
