Probably only Rakan... Zazie too perhaps. But when Alita starts showing her (new) power, Mbadi will descend the Sword of Damocles, but in spite of that all the others will manage to survive somehow.

The series ends with Figure Four meeting Ido Daisuke and both of them looking at a random star near the border of Tiphres, talking about angels.

If u only consider plot characters it's Rakan who (must) is going to die, otherwise the chances that something hits one of the spectators, who didn't leave after the Jupiterbeam disaster, is very high. Welcome to Zott please sign this waiver declaration!

Hmm ... i forgot Sechs and Zekka could soon die in an antimatter-explosion triggered by Sechs ...

I think the whole Zott plot is kind of a dead-end street. IMHO all outcomes other than Alita's team winnning are undesirable as they would seriously impact a likely future plot from continuing and i don't see Yukito Kishiro killing one of your beloved Angels, especially given the amount of character development that was infested in Zazie and/or Sechs. A premature/catastrophic end which doesn't kill our Angels may be possible, put after all that build up for the Zott I don't think that would be very satisfying. a Karate+Angel teamup vs the authorities comes to mind, which would be sweet if Rakan died somehow before that.

Poor Rakan, there is no redemption for him? Rakan little by little became an interesting character. His lack of any morality makes him the very opposite of Touji. To me he is more interesting and has more consistence than Sechs, that is only a comical character. Unfortunately comical caracters don't die because they are a necessary cliche.
Rakan symbolize the ugliness that exists inside of all of us, ugliness and detestable desires that we refuse to acknowledge and hide inside our unconscious... lol! Here is I myself making use of Freudian cliches.
The alliance between the two teams is mostly like to occur. It is possible also that Alita's and Zekka's combined powers will resist the sword of damocles.

I hope I'm right too. I've thought about it a LOT and actually thought about writing my version as a fanfic after I heard about the Hiatus...I'm really glad Kishirosan started up again though, I'm not sure I want to have to explain my ideas. XD

And LOL, DBZA is kind of what I've been calling the ZOTT. It's seriously dragging on way too long.
What's scary to think about though is what if Kishirosan doesn't even know what will happen after they get to Mars and that's why he's still got the ZOTT going? D:

Most of the spectators left after this match, the arena is shown to be largely empty and filled only with the die hards.

I am hoping that something comes out of the arena and takes Mbadi out, but he probably is sitting behind the best shields in the place with more than enough backup supply power to keep them running. And he could probably bug out of the entire Onion Frame faster than anyone else.

I am presuming that the Finals match is an hour. What if there was a tie somehow?

Zekka however believes that he is the strongest fist in the cosmos and would have to be beaten to start listening to other viewpoints that might contradict his own. The fact that he even let Sechs know what his vulnerability is shows how cocky he is. Or that he is searching for a suitable successor perhaps and is looking for a way to go out which would involve him using the Dragon Slayer.

It's worth noting that ZOTT rounds aren't necessarily to the death, Misha survived the second round vs the Space Angels.
Tunpo and Zekka also survived a tie.
So one side or the other could win if time ran out and they had more remaining teammates, one side could be completely incapacitated (Toji might be out on his feet already), or one side could surrender to the other.
It's not like Toji's aspirations and Alita's are incompatible. She wants the safety of the Scrapyard/Tiphares, and he simply wants neutral ground to establish a Karate community.
Of all the match-ups, Rakkan and Zazie's seems most likely to end with a fatality, given their backgrounds and styles.

But there are several possible scenarios that don't involve one of the teams being killed off.

Everybody will die except Gally, that's the only way to finish Z.O.T. and don't make it look like the classic and shitty shounen tournament.

Nevertheless this is what it became unfortunately.

I had another thought: The ZOTT will not be finished. Something totally unexpected is gonna happen (on the arena or somewhere else) and the championship will be cancelled because of this fact. Some characters get out of the history after that, with the possibility of coming back at any time. Another ones appear and join Alita. I think it would give the manga a nem breath.

I wonder how many more phases will cover the Finals, Vol. 15 is already devoted to it and it looks like it will cover all of 16.

So many karmic possibilities!

My ZOTT would end with Zazie being the spearhead of a Mars-commando-op trying and succeeding in seizing control of Melchizedek and as a result ending the Mars/system-wide stalemate and the need for ZOTT.

Rakan is the most likely to be disposed of at the moment,
First someone has to die obviously, and Rakan is the one with which we have the least emotional ties, being the most recent character of the lot.
Second, whatever the ending I can't see him taking any function either in the space Karate country or in an independent earth
whereas Toji could be a ruler or a protector, the same goes for Zekka, but he's more likely to leave once thez battle is over in search for a powerful enemy or whatever, handing the spoils to Toji.
Third, Kishiro can't just kill Toji he's put a lot of character development in him, so he has to serve a purpose either as a loser or a winner. It's different for Zekka as he 's cool but may die all the same. But definitely not the first, if he dies it's game over for the Karate team. if he dies that will be the conclusion of the finals and he'll go down with pride and style.
Now Xazie must accompany Alita on Mars and guide her there moreover she's cool.
Alita has already used up her near death experience quota in this tournament, it's getting old! I don't want to see her phoenix dying again before she sets foot on Mars....
Rakan is the Only character Kishiro made unredeemable, he's both a sadist and a rapist, there is no other character like that in BAA, moreover he assaulted our duo of comic relief fan service characters, what a psycho!!!
Moreover He has had a Flashback!!!!! It's as sure a death omen as seeing the star next to Ursa major in Hokuto no ken.
