Are you people going to actually translate LO 110 or what?

It's been three months. Are we going to get a translated copy of LO 110, or do I need to bend some knees the wrong way to make this happen?
In case you haven't noticed, Rippersanime is pretty much the ONLY forum on the internet that actually goes around translating the Last Order series.
-.-

I assume TargaryenX has been busy with other things lately and there are not many people with his skills around. And believe me the manga is not easy to translate. Even my Japanese colleagues have trouble with some of the kanji Kishiro-san uses.
When is the next volume coming out? As I'm currently living in Japan I could buy and scan it.

As you live in Japan and are surrounded by Japanese speakers, can't you try translating the chapter?

If I find the time, I will do so. But I can't promise anything, because sadly Japanese working hours apply for me too.

Well that was an asinine way to ask about translation status.

Have PM:ed TargaryenX, but no answer

Hopefully he will come back and bring us another tl script.
If he doesn't want to translate it anymore. We could wait for another translator or I will ask Morten at Gantz_waitingroom if he has a translator for us.

It would be great. Even if Targa intends to return to the project later, the fact is that right now he is not exactly available. Morten would be the new Messiah, why not?

Hello!
I was finally able to register on this forum after several unsuccessful tries...
Battle Angel Alita is one of my top 3 favorite manga and seeing it stalled really makes me feel down.
I'm part of a scanlation team called
Japanzai and we have quite a few capable Japanese to English TLers. I never proposed to the team to pick up BAA as RippersAnime were doing a good job, however if you have issues making the TL would you consider a joint?
This is just me proposing you our help, if you aren't interested I'll leave it at that. No prob
I'll keep track of this thread but you can contact me on
Japanzai by PMing
Weaper or on our IRC @IRCHighway#Japanzai
ps: thanks a lot for all the work until now

Sorry, last time I checked this is a free amateur translation. If you want to read the chapter, you're more than welcome to buy the official release by Viz (whenever that happens) or translate it yourself. You are not entitled to this service I'm providing you.
That said, I'm sorry for making everyone wait so long. Between distractions and procrastination it ended up taking way longer than it should have (in the end, it only took 2.5 hours ><). I honestly expected that the next issue would come out and then I'd be forced to sit down and do it, but apparently that doesn't happen until this month.
I'll make an effort to continue translating, but honestly I'm kind of losing interest in the manga at this point. The main thing that gets me are Kishiro's long-winded scientific explanations. So even with the Japanese explanation, I still have to research the damn thing so that I know enough about it to make the translation sound natural. On the bright side I learn a lot about physics, but it's still annoying as hell.
It might be good to have a backup translator in case I take a vacation to the moon again like this. Hopefully with the Mars(?) arc, things will pick up a bit and that won't be necessary though.

See my other posting about the impatient ones...
Anyway i just had a talk with Weaper and he's ok with being standby.
Doing like a joint when needed.
He's going to check if one of their translators follows the series and is willing.
Still i hope you can keep it up TargaryenX as the translation of yours are great!
But still its a free choice thing.
If you want to quit, there is NO obligation forcing you to continue translating.

Doing a joint could make things very mellow...
This was my first interpretation of what Ripper said.
And there is no smoking smiley on this forum.

TargaryenX, I appreciate your translations. The reason why I'd been asking is because of the following:
1. Shueisha no longer publishes Gunnm in Japan. Kishiro moved to Kodansha.
2. Viz is owned by Shueisha. Viz is the current license-holder of the Battle Angel Alita property in the United States, and is unlikely to relinquish it unless ordered to by its parent company so that Kodansha USA can do the publishing. (Again, unlikely because knowing how Japanese mentalities work, they're going to try to screw over Kishiro in the U.S.)
3. See the problem?
Anyway, to reiterate: I appreciate your translations a LOT! Ever since Viz hasn't announced volume 16 in the United States, I have to assume the worst-case scenario. So my main source for following Gunnm/Battle Angel Alita is now Ripper's...

Targaryn, as someone who does translating occasionally themselves, I understand exactly what you mean, considering the service that you give is voluntary. All I can say to you in this situation is that you need to put a smirk on your face and say:
Keep up the good free volunteer work. Everyone else can go and devour "Kanji for dummies".
