green onion joke

I don't get the " I'm neither a ghost nor a green onion " at pag 12 of chapter 129
The text is in chapter 128.
In the previous picture, Figure does not fear anything in material world, as to ghosts…
And, some people simply run if you offer them a sandwich (or any other thing) with green onion.
Rem Rey makes a joke, saying he does not have to fear her.
