Interesting the way Ninon's character evolves. If initially she is just an arrogant girl, in a moment of crisis she did behave like a queen, guiding Yoko and working to protect the girls in her group.

On the other hand, did Kishiro really need to kill children as if exterminating cockroaches? Those soldiers are scoundrels, certainly, and if his idea was to make that clear, he succeeded, but that seems exaggerated to me.

Anyway, we already know that they are after Yoko, so I am curious to know their reason and who ordered the carnage.

The concept of children having no rights and being viewed as nearly subhuman was raised back in LO with the juvenile infantry concept and what happened to Giraud's platoon. Another example is the street children that Toji fed were heard being shot. But, none of the violence being done was ever actually shown.

I think the main reason to kill the children is 1) to get rid of them because we know the story goes that Yoko and Erica are going to be rained on they're on , no other friends. 2) To give a taste of the ruthless time they are living in. 3) To give the seed of the idea in the two protagonist about having a good/strong leader

I hope Ninon survives and becomes really the queen of Mars.
Then Alita finds her again in the future, all grown up and stuff.
And a cat fight ensues...just like that

If I understood it, there are too many details to consider. The present royal family on Mars disagrees with Methuselyzation, and if Ninon is related to them, she will certainly meet Yoko, but never exactly Alita.

I had an idea this morning: The reason Ninon exist . We all though FrauX has Erica. So maybe Yokito will kill Erica , so Yoko turns in to a cold killer. And than we find Ninon as FrauX.

I hated this idea. Erica is my heroine, and your idea scares me.

Erica got to Grunthal, so she doesn't die yet. Although the idea that she was presumed dead in a Kunstler mission, hardening Yoko's outlook on life (or maybe Gelda died?), is also a possibility.

We already knew Yoko and Erica would go to Grüntal , the question is what happens to Ninon ? And how is FrauX the highest possibility was Erica , because she was the only friend other than Gelda. But now we got option 3

Erica is FrauX, there is no doubt. YK has always maintained consistent young-old character design, and even played with the idea of visual red herrings to great dramatic effect in the Ido/Nova mix-up. This would be a lame Red Herring.

I thought the little girl with the glasses getting skewered was a bit gratuitous, even by Gunnm standards.



Also, all of the kid violence in LO was due to Methuselization being widespread, which happens at the end of the big war that Martian Chronicles is hip deep in. So these soldiers seem outside the realm of normal human decency, given what we know at this time...I mean, I imagine we will see that Gelda is as lethal as they come, but it seems likely that she saved Yoko out of human compassion.

Gerda is a giantess among insects. Those soldiers are so scoundrels that I would not dare to name them sons of bitches, as I do not intend to offend the bitches. They certainly educate their children better.
