From the looks of things Alita tried using her "Plasma Bison"(Page 6). It's the same move she used on Tzykrow Der Rabe. Interestingly enough, Erica used small explosives like he did only her's were actually effective.

Very quickly the Imaginos 2.0 having to deal with some pwnage.

Tzykrow's bombs were effective but his strategy was different since he targeted the joints and didn't activate them until he was further away so there was no follow through like Erica did.

Kirwitzer was mentioned during the Operation Hagel chapter as being the Neo-Third Reich Division commander at the spaceport but he got away.

The perceived skill gap between Alita and Erica is way bigger than I thought - well, that or Alita still doesn't fight 100% seriously.

That's true but when I say damage I mean being able to KO her. As she did take a few of his explosives near her head but didn't get knocked out. But the three bombs Erica placed on Alita's hair were a fair bit bigger then his so it's understandable.

Sergio Nova is apparently going to help me out with those tables of contents, so I guess I probably should do something in return... ^^
If you're interested in some spoilers for log:008 (both parts)...

According to Kirwitzer's autopsy, he actually was dead for quite some time. Caerula introduces us to the concept of "Necro Soldiers", i.e. remotely-controlled reanimated corpses. The technology has been around for a couple of centuries already and it has only gotten better with time. It's now quite hard to detect, and the Necro Soldiers themselves are unaware of their condition.
Anyway, Kirwitzer's Third Reich thingy was all smoke and mirrors, and Dasein apparently is behind it all.

Meanwhile, Gally and Erika keep fighting. Erika seems to have the upper hand... until Gally drops the bomb: Erika is dead. Gally (well, Yōko) killed her 200 years ago. She's a Necro Soldier.

Doesn't sound like an interesting plotline.

Nova could bring Gally back to life after destroying her brain almost completely. If these Desein guys can only reanimate some brain functions instead of fully revive the brain, their technology is shit.

Also, I don't see why Erica should be shocked about being dead, considering Gally is just an android. Biologically speaking, she's dead too. Really, the only matter of concern for Erica should be the fact that someone is supposedly controlling her. Now that's a real issue.
