^Ripper's Anime Page

I would like to know if anyone has news about what is happening.
As to now, Mars Chronicle volume 1 has not been released. I have been visiting Kodansha Comics' site [http://kodanshacomics.com/] and, although the page is alive, it seems the company is working too slowly. I even subscribed to their newsletter in June 14 and up to now I have received a total of… 0 (absolute zero) newsletters.

I even sent a private message to Ben Applegate asking about an ETA, but I received no answer at all.

Despite the non-functioning newsletter, they have published something and have some titles previewed to October, but not many popular titles.

In short, either they had abandoned Gunnm or they are facing problems, and their site gives no possibility of contact.

Good, so it's not just me.

I sent an email to their customer relations department about the licensing status of the original Battle Angel Alita, and if they'd be rereleasing it in the future. I got no reply.

I've been wondering this too. Anyone have an idea on how well Last Order was selling? KCUSA would need some justification to pick up the Mars Chronicle license. They have the Attack on Titan and Sailor Moon licenses and are even releasing Inusyashiki by Hiroya Oku (Gantz) which is also published in Evening, so I doubt they are in trouble.

Well, i don't know about american market, but here, in italy, i often wonder if i'm the only one guy who still read Gunnm. Well, i guess it happens when u carry on a publication for 24 years,

When Kishiro broke with Shûeisha, there were many companies interest in his portfolio. Initially, Kodansha republished Last Story and Shûeisha republished Hyper Future Vision. Later on, Kodansha acquired the rights on HFV as well. That said, at least in Japan the series has been selling pretty well, although such a success is not supposed to be compared to Naruto, One Piece or the like.

I disagree! Gunnm is by far better.
