Yes, exactly. I thought Yoko never knew her mother or, if we would ever get to see her, would have a huge pair of octopuslips. Imagine my surprise

10 buck she is not the real mom. If she is she will have to die in next chapter , or Alita will not go with Erika to the punzer school

Obviously, Erica senses something. The story is all over the place, but a while ago I remember "bad guys" looking for Yoko.

From Gunnm Marian Memories we learned that Yoko was never born - or, at least, not exactly born. And once it is impossible to have a mother without been born…

The bad guys are still looking and their falcon saw what happened.

I read Erica's reaction as she couldn't hold in any longer how horrible her situation was. Her own mother who stabbed out her eye and cursed her with her last words, while Yoko's mom came to find her and is taking her home, but Erica can't go home.

Greetings everyone, just got into the battle angel alita series two years ago. Also I would like to thank rippersanime and team pixie dust for translating the series.

Now about this chapter, I would agree on the possibility that person isn't Yoko's mother, but another possibility I considered is that "Yoko's mother" might be the person who hired those bounty hunters who tried to kill her.
But it's just a speculation, but one I personally like.

This smells so fishy... I don't buy that the Virgin Mary is Yoko's mother.

Such an obvious impostor, weak plot.

She could still be real , and Blown to pieces in the next chapter

It only ends in tears for sure, I mean, they both end up in the panzer kunst school at some point. And I doubt we were introduced to some sort of terrorist for nothing. It will unfold at some point, probably brutally. I'll miss the old man though.

If she is actually Yoko's mother i totally want to know about her family.

I smell death on her (and the geezxer).
