Thank you for this episode The plot thickens. Can't wait for the next episode. I wonder what would have happened if Muster's bodyless brain would have been inserted into Melchizedek. Btw., I don't think he is really that bad or evil (atm) just a bit pissed off.

I wondering if they will add the Brain Queen from the gunnm video game into this manga, since there could be a chance it might relate with Baron.

Hmm. If he would have replaced both his body and brain to get rid of the maske tumor, would he be still alive (and be the same person/ call yourself human). Could have psyche have coped with the fact that he has no brain instead of too many?

That wouldn't solve the problem at all. The consciousness attached to the biological brain can't be transplanted to the chip. At most you can transplant the memories, but even then the chip is still a different person from the original.


Gally herself is the most clear example of this. Both the chip Gally and the biological Gally are alive at the same time, and they're clearly two different, separate people. They don't share conciousness.

I have ordered the Japanese version in my bookstore. Absurd, but they simply stopped bringing the books when Last Order ended.
As to the English language version, the only time Kodansha replied to one of my emails, they said they had bureaucratic problems negotiating the title, so they had no estimation.
Well, if a foreign branch office has difficulties negotiating with the headquarters, Kodansha is not serious, simply.

Even if the chip person doesn't know they have a chip inside their head, the fact remains they're not the same person as the original. Chip Gally isn't the same person as biological Gally. Chip Gally might have the same memories, but she's still a different person with a different conciousness (different soul, if you will).

With philosophical topics such as these, they are open ended and the concept of a correct answer doesn't exist.
The fact we give out different opinions and comment on other peoples opinions just makes it all the more fun and is one of the factors that makes this series incredibly deep in my opinion.

I don't mean it like that. I mean "soul" as in your conciousness and point of view. What makes you an individual, different and separate from everyone else. The conciousness from your biological brain can't be transferred into a chip. The chip will develop its own conciousness. This isn't an opinion. It's a fact proved by chip Gally and biological Gally living at the same time as separate people.

What I meant was that if brain chip technology was available to him, he could, in theory, achieve his goals easier/faster, what with a healthy copy of him. I've always wanted to see two copies of the same person interacting with each other in the world of Gunnm. Correct me if my memory is faulty, but I don't think that so far we've had a chance to do so - excluding Desty Novas and the Tuned series, of course.
