For the record, I'm pretty skeptical of a live-action adaptation, but I've been watching Jessica Jones on Netflix and zOMG Krysten Ritter is so Gally:

I have to agree that she remembers Gally, but the picture you chose is unhappy. Gally's face is tattooed, but this girl's is… cut!
Anyway, you're right! She'd be a perfect Gally (although I have never seen her in action).

I would much prefer to see a Japanese or Japanese-American actress play Gally/Alita. I really hope that James Cameron doesn't follow the trend of whitewashing classic manga, like Dragon Ball, AKIRA, and now Ghost in the Shell.

Also, I just don't think this actress bears a good resemblance to Gally, aside from her hair. I think someone like Nounen Rena has a much closer physical appearance to Gally:

I really don't mind about Alita's ethnicity in the live action, as long as they get the story and characters right. Ritter really looks fine and would be a good casting option if it ever gets done IMHO, she's a really good actress and I definately like her better than any CGI character. Also, she's got the lips!

I think Ritter is too old to play Alita. An actress in her 20s makes much more sense to me. As well, I think her face just doesn't look like Alita's. Her nose is definitely too sharp, and I don't think her lips are very pouty either.

Personally, I think Kiko Mizuhara would be a much stronger candidate to play Alita. She is a gorgeous actress and looks incredibly similar to Alita:


I think she would make a much better Alita than any of the three actresses they are really considering...

Ahh, not to beat a dead horse, but I just realized Satomi Ishihara would be perfect as Gally!:


She has perfect "octo-lips"!!
