No. The Schatten Folgen is Erika's technique of "always being behind the enemy." Nothing to do with the Verschlag. Your cousins were probably right with the correct German spelling "Schatten Folgen". It would translate straight into "Shatten Forugen" in Japanese.

Here is my serious translation of Gally's mumbling on the Schatten Folgen:

From what was spoken, regarding the enemy's martial art ("taijutsu" for teh narutards) of acquiring the fatal angle, this is the Schatten Folgen, (tn: literally in Japanese as Shadow Body Step Technique). In Panzer Kunst, this is a basic taijutsu that beginners learn.

However, it is a completely different thing from practice to actual combat!!
(TN: Now comes the part that I don't really understand and FRIKKING difficult to translate to english)
This martial art, as a beginner technique, if it is taken to the extreme, it will achieve OUGI level. Exactly what that is..!!
(OUGI: Highest level of the martial art. The most secret and most powerful technique, passed on from master to the student who will become the next master)

i've been a long logn gime without comming here, and I find 5 releases in the main page and raws with translations in the forums till phase 90 WOW. SO much has happened!

Also I want to collaborate and make this reach page 4... but I'm guessing that the message is not said in this issue and we'll have to wait for 91 to find out.

Concerning the message I would tend to think that it uses a morse code too(maybe one particular to kunstlers? this would buttress the idea of a very closed and secretive community of warriors, which has been introduced in volume 3 when Panzer Kunst was first referred to as some kind of sect, who knows?).

A binary code would be too complicated for a human brain to interpret (Alita had not received fata morgana at the time and Erica had no way to know that she would benefit from the powers of Melchizedek, so we may infer that Erica sent a message she knew Alita would be able to interpret), and as we have seen using a machine as a means of translation is totally out of question given that they will simply explode if they enter in contact with the victim.

However if a kunstler is able to interpret the message I don't think the victim is supposed to be "healed" by the one to whom it is addressed. The technique leaves the container/messenger to continue his unvoluntary rampage among his allies, ending his life either dying a miserable death, caused by the slow action of the waves within the body, or eventually killed by his own comrades. That is if the container dies, if the technique is not supposed to be lethal, then the "infected" is condemned to cast himself out, and to live ostracised lest he should harm those he cares for, causing damage whererever he goes, the victim is eventually left with no choice but to commit suicide. (So it is because she received the Fata Morgana that Alita is able to save Xazi, well that's how I see it at least)

Anyway both alternatives will deal a huge blow to the opponent's moral, in the best case the "receiving" kunstler will kill the victim himself to keep the latter from suffering, but will surely be affected. Moreover, in addition to the received message, it also gives an ominous warning: at one point the receiving kunstler will have to face a terrible opponent who thoroughly master the hertz nader.

As for the message itself I can only think that it is a reference to panzer kunst, maybe at a certain level the kunstler ceases to be called human to be called a dancer? after all kunster means artist so there may be connection with that.

I'm for this, we won't get what the code says until the next issue.

And it would be fairly easy to send a code in the form of waves, you can code it int eh frequency of them, the number of them, etc... wonder is gally did the fourier transform of the waves to see if there was a message there indeed lol.

and according to the said complexity of the shockwave, this could contain terabytes of data, like panzer kunst whole history if kishiro wants to
