Yeah, that's what I would assume. Statistics and abilities within their chosen martial arts. Each one has a different style, and each one is probably the tops at what they do.

Still, Rakan's graph is mighty puny. I wonder if that bulge in his chart is for stealth.

Also, is it just me, or is Rakan's arm in a sort of improbable position behind him? I mean, it looks like it's bent at an abnormal angle. Is this another feature on his poison-filled body?

I must say, I'm very conflicted about this page.

Usually, the moment they use quantified values for "power" in a shonen mangais the moment the story jumps the shark. I hope this page is just an eye candy/hommage and doesn't actually reflect what the story is gonna be. Gunnm does NOT need power levels. Ever.

Why are some people that much afraid of power levels? Is it only because Toriyama once fucked it up by starting at power levels of 300 and ended up at 10 million? Well ok, that wasn't fun anymore, but who says, that this happens everytime?
You have power, you can measure this power: in newton, in tons per mm² or whatever. Why shouldn't the GUNNM universe have the possibility to measure ones power? 9000, so what? Its not 9000 anything, I bet Kishiro thought well about a unit. And even if Alita maybe one day has 12.000 x, she will never have 10 mill. (at least i hope so).

Ah, I'm not afraid of it at all. I believe those gauges will play no part in the overall story whatsoever, and he just did it as part of the page spread. Like when Gally was looking at the dog that went into space. It was one page, and then we never saw it again. That's what I believe this is, too.

Yeah, you could be right. Meaningfull or not, as a spread it is impressive all right!

You haven't read a lots of Shounen manga, don't you?

Also, my main complaint about powerlevel is that it makes battles far too predictible, with horrible dialogue and people screaming at numbers instead of techniques. That's just poor and lazy writting.

What I hate the most is when they screaming their attacks everytime.

Im totally in love/ addicted to glo that i wont mind if the story (or at least the battle scenes) start being like some dbz bs. Its been too good xP
