In my opinion 1200 or 1300 is enough. I don't really see a reason to go any higher than that even if the raw might be 1500.

True. jpg is only to be used for color pages, while png is used for black/white pages.
I learned to save every page in png-8, adaptive, diffusion, 17 colors. I do it that way since I started and I never heard any complaints.

Well you can do the translation to english of chp 80 and compare it to everything that liquid has translated of that chapter so far.
That should give you a good idea if stuff is lost in translation and how much.
