just to let you know I have noticed 3 typing mistakes
p.2 in rakan's profile "Karte" is written instead of "Karate"
and on page 25 there is Legenday instead of legendary and decieve instead of deceive
Thanks again

I'm glad that you managed to release another chapter (and faster this time).

But I also have to say that I'm a little disappointed about the quality. So far the quality has been great. But when I compare the release of chapter 81 with the raw of this this chapter I have on my harddrive, the raw is clearly better. The borders are much clearer & sharper and the white areas don't have the dust the release has.
The raw for this chapter has been out for ages which means you should have had a lot of time to work on it, so I expected a better quality from you guys.

I hope you will be back to your normal quality with the next release (and I wish you luck in finding a translator).

Actually I have two versions.
One that seems to be cleaned already. At least it's pretty clean. That's the one I compared your release to.
And I also have a raw that looks like a typical raw. With the gray veil over the picture. I leveled one page of it myself in a minute and it looked better (without any additional cleaning work).

Not that I want to disrespect you or anything. The quality is still alright. I just think compared to your previous releases, this one could've been better.

Here are the raws. But I'm sure they are the same ones you have.

I agree theirs scans are more sharp that the scanlated one, but the fact is that the original cleaned raw had a bigger resolution that the one released.
And the change of resolution did lost quality depending of the software used.
It can be adjusted, but it would habe been better to keep the original resolution, but that's not my part. ^^'
+ the fact that they use png instead of jpg, which is better, especially for resizing.
I should try that next time...
Thought it's was a bigger problem, because from the start the raw looked quite dark.
Whatever, constructive criticism is always appreciated. o_0'

Here's the raw:

In short: mainly a compression problem.

manga scans should always use non-destructive compression, ie. no jpg, only tiff, png or bmp for working files (bmp is more heavy but saves faster)

jpg will do artefacts aroung sharp edges in bi-color areas, unless you lower the compression level and then the file is as big as png... png rulez !
lower color depth to 16bit or even 8bit with dithering/error diffusion (see what's best for each page) and then you a perfect state of the art HQ release, complying the "industry" standards :D

True. jpg is only to be used for color pages, while png is used for black/white pages.
I learned to save every page in png-8, adaptive, diffusion, 17 colors. I do it that way since I started and I never heard any complaints.

I am using projpeg to make them really small.
And I re-sized them to 1200*8xx instead of 1400*9xx, and changed resolution from 150 to 72.
In series like Eden and Adolf, that I also are typesetting. You can't see any difference.

But if anybody wants HQ, I still have the PSD files on my computer.

No need to release it in an higher resolution.
In my opinion 1200 or 1300 is enough. I don't really see a reason to go any higher than that even if the raw might be 1500.

my old paint shop pro doesn't allow that much tuning, i need to resample and lower colordepth manually... i don't doubt your setting is state-of-the-art

Well I guess it depends on what program you use most. You work yourself into that program more and it's easier to use for you. I only use Photoshop because the first tutorial I used to learn scanlating (the good old 'idiot's guids to editing manga'),used and suggested it. And I have been using it ever since.
Actually I had to download an older version because my newer version had a different layout than the tutorial. So I'm using the old 7.0 (so much for state of the art *gg*).
It suits my purpose though and I think it's easy too use. But it's been a while since I last used Paintshop and I never scanlated with it, so it's hard to compare for me.

And thx for the v2
