Perhaps Kishiro can just jump ship to Shounen Jump and reboot the series again as an endless tournament manga, GUNNM: LETS FIGHTING LOVE!

Though, at least even with this speed bump, GUNNM is coming out faster than Berserk. I think we got a whole 4 chapters or something last year. If Kishiro takes up an addiction to bad moe games, we will be seriously screwed.

Aye Berserk is an awesome read, with art on part with Alita, especially when it comes to raw ass skill.

It might be by the by now, but after seeing a re-released tankobon of the first Gunnm volume alongside the 15th one in Shinjuku Kinokuniya last week, that might be why they feel it needs to be cleaned up? If they're putting out repackaged versions of the older stuff then maybe they think a bit of PC adjustment is necessary for new sales.
Think it's a waste of time and completely misdirected, especially if the author's not on board.
Have been reading this series since 1992 and would hate to see it ended prematurely ( a second time?) especially as to where it's at now and where it's heading..

I just thought I saw someone saying it will be translated and posted up soon which was like 2 weeks ago....

As I see it, its not so much about the changes itself but the time. In one of his first blog entrys posted here, he complained about not getting enough attention for his jubilee. And indeed, instead of giving him e.g. a poster or more color pages or a new action figure, they ask him to re-do old stuff, right before the deadline of ch. 100. That's just shitty behaviour for an editor. An editor's job is to act as a mediator between the magazin and the author, not as the magazin's slavedriver. GLO runs for 10 straight years now and this idiot picks the one wrong time in those 10 years. Big fail.

However I don't know why Kishiro is on strike now. YK already agreed to the changes (as we see HFV vol. 01 is in stores with the new cover already). So what does he want? An apology maybe? A better contract that won't let this happen again? I definitely want to know the rest of this story since we obviously know only half of it.

Lack of ideas? He yet has to develop the story arc of Mars, and the PSX game is the example of what is to come. Sure there must have an important reason to put the manga on hiatus.

he has no reason to "lack ideas" since the whole GLO story is a remake of the PSone game. If he was stuck he would just follow the game closer and call it a day.
I'm actually surprised the chapter is delayed, though, since from what we saw it was advertised in the magazine and all.
To be honest, lost of people were complaining for a long time that Gunnm quite lighten up in the recent chapters (could be a result of executive meddling), so this little crisis may be a good opportunity for Kishiro to darkens thing up a little again. I'm all for artist freedom anyway, so I'll always back him up in this matter, whatever small the details of the fuss may be about. (I suspect a lots of thing in that affair to not have been revealed actually. Probably on a personal level)

These are bad news indeed, and while I understand Kishiro's anger, I hope we'll see an end to this strike in a not-too-far future

In the meantime, has anybody started to translate chapter 100? I know the cam-raw we have is not good enough for a complete scanlation, but it seems readable, so I was wondering if anyone could provide a translated script?

Hi, I just registered shortly before Kishiro announced the hiatus. :/ I'm a long time fan, BAA being the first manga I ever read, about 15 years ago, and today it is actualy the only manga I read o.o
so yea, his decision hit me as hard as it could have hit... I will support him with whatever he does, BUT, being a professional pixelartist, with about 16 years of experience, I decided to do a little 'motivational pixelart' for Kishiro-sensei:

This is just a part of the animation I will be sending him, greatly revolving about the theme: "WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOO...!?" "... Gally!? Zechs!? The Scrapheap?! Zalem?! Desty Nova!? SUPER nova!? Mars?! Conclusion!? FLAN!?" what about US? the readers? o.o everything underlined with some animation and japanese textartwork.

Maybe it will motivate him? what do you think?
