This page even lists Gantz as cyberpunk: http://www.cyberpunkreview.com/wiki/ind ... vels#Gantz.
To me it seems excessive gentleness to categorize Gantz as anything.

There is a comprehensive Wikipedia entry about what is cyberpunk http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberpunk The ones you mentioned are indeed cyberpunk in style. Recently I watched the first OVA of Mardock Scramble http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mardock_Scramble and I've find it quite good -- Rune Ballot is a kick-ass cyber girl with her own style -- however the manga isn't on par with the OVA and I have yet to read some of the light novels.

It has a lot of real life man, bear it or don't watch.
By the other hand I felt relieved, at least she had the chance to avenge herself and the power to never let other scumbags to do the same to her again, in real life the victim almost never have the same chance.

Spoiler:
A nice thing of the end is that the victim is on the verge of becoming a villan in her revenge , I hope that will be a point in the 2° movie
