Name your favorite volume/tankobon title either in the original series or in Last Order, either the original Japanese title or the equivalent translation. I'll start.
->Panzer Bride (which was renamed to Angel of Chaos, but I do like Angel of Chaos as a title because it can be read as a pun, i.e. Angel of Kaos)
What's your favorite volume title?

Angel of Death (Viz edition). It is my favourite, the one that got me hooked by the series and also the very first volume I've read. The first one because Viz didn't numbered the volumes of Alita's first graphic novel edition, so I picked this one at random among some others available at a comic store I've came in about twelve or thirteen years ago. If by chance I would have picked the Tears of An Angel, perhaps I wouldn't become addicted to the series, since this is the worst volume of all the others. The Alita's and Hugo's love affair was too much irritating to me.
In Angel of Death Alita was too crazy as a tuned agent:
"Yes! I love being in battle! I love the moment when my body stops being a machine and becomes a part of me! My blood boils and my mind goes all white! It's like an incredible high! There's no time to think -- only action!"
Wow!

The Hell is here, life itself is hell and humans are at the same time the demons and the damned.

Actually I never got used to VIZ' "Angel of something", I more like the old titles. Doesn't Panzer Bride sound much more powerful than Angel of Chaos?
(of course, the pun is lost, then)
Out of those old titles I'd say I prefer most "Ars magna" (vol. 04) and "War chronicles" (vol. 08). Though I can't say why. A mix of the cover, the content and the actual title I guess. My edition of GLO doesn't even have seperate titles to begin with, as far as I know.

Whoa, I never even noticed that pun. 10 years of being a fan of this series and I overlooked this?! For shame.... Haha, ah well, 'tis amusing.AR-99 wrote:Name your favorite volume/tankobon title either in the original series or in Last Order, either the original Japanese title or the equivalent translation. For me my first volume was actually the last in the series, but I'd have to say Angel of Death is probably my favorite as well. Being in Middle School, at the time, the last volume kinda went over my head.

Re: What's your favorite volume title?
Lost Sheep [HFV 05 - Angel of redemption] is a good title, especially because of the meaning, but my preferred one is certainly Water of Styx [LO 11 - Angel Cake], that has a strong and impacting name (Viz's name, on the other hand, is simply ridiculous).

The pun is lost, but Panzer Bride just has a certain ring to it. I can't say the same thing for Panzer Husband however.Cailon wrote:Actually I never got used to VIZ' "Angel of something", I more like the old titles. Panzer Widow now, that could be a possible comic title.
