GLO 110 Translation Script

Post by TargaryenX »

p01
Phase 110: Imagination Control

Black Text: Form is Emptiness, Emptiness is Form. The tiger-killing fist crushes Mbadi's ambitions!

Text box: The black hole unleashed by Don Fua devours one of the Sword of Damocles' attack satellites!

p02
Text Box: The matter forms an accretion disk as it is sucked in by the enormous gravity...

Text Box: And through a quasar reaction, shoots it back out in a high energy jet!!

Addendum: Quasar Reaction: Named for the mechanism by which a quasar emits radiation. The matter in the accretion disk surrounding the black hole is torn into subatomic particles by tidal forces, and as it falls towards the center friction superheats it to millions of degrees celsius and it becomes plasma. It is believed that about 50% of the total mass trapped in the hole's gravity well is eventually ejected by this plasma jet or converted into electromagnetic radiation.

p03
Text Box: Guard ships caught in the jet liquefy like candy left in the sun before they explode.

Text Box: The black hole then vanished in to subspace.

p04
Computer: 0-A3 lost.
Computer: No response from guard ships #074 and #077.
Computer: 0-A4 lost.
Computer: Guard ship #081 reporting heavy damage.

Mbadi: Wh...What is this...
Computer: 0-A1 lost.

Computer: Sword of Damocles system offline!!
Computer: Initiating phase 4 emergency response protocol.

Don Fua: Looks like this is the end of the line!!

p05
Mbadi: Don Fua...You cretin!!
Don Fua: Angry Ketherians are rushing to the shuttles...
Don Fua: The elite N-ORDER troops are also on their way to arrest you, sir.

Don Fua: Namu Amida Butsu...
Don Fua: This is what they call karmic retribution!!

Mbadi: Is that supposed to scare me?
Mbadi: I'm the superhuman, Trinidad. The number of insects I have to squash makes no difference to me.
Mbadi: On frozen Pluto, I was enlightened!
Mbadi: The ignorant masses require the absolute rule of a superhuman being!!

p06
Don Fua: I'm not long for this dimension...
Don Fua: But before I go it looks like I'm gonna have to get rid of that big head of yours...

Mbadi: No!
Mbadi: DON'T~!!

p07
Mbadi: Ga Agh

Don Fua: Reflect on your sins as an ordinary human.
Mbadi: ah ah ah

Don Fua: You thought you'd surpassed humans by stealing things from other humans...

Don Fua: You're still a long way from enlightenment.

p08
Mbadi: Gaaaarrgh

Mbadi: You...are a fool who can only make decisions based on good and evil...

Mbadi: Without Trinidad, this world will be engulfed in chaos...
SFX: haah haah
Mbadi: My deeds...my plans will be definitely be remembered 100, no, 1000 years from now!!

Don Fua: Looks like I've used up my power in this dimension.

p09
Alita: Are you going to die?
Don Fua: No, I'm not.

Don Fua: I'm just goin' to another dimension where time and space have no meaning.
Alita: Th-That's...
Alita: Very...

Alita: Zen!!
Don Fua: It's OK, you don't have to force it.

Don Fua: Looks like I owe you, miss.
Don Fua: I'm not sure if this will make us even...

Don Fua: But I think I'll take this guy with me.
Payne: Let go of me~

Alita: Colonel Payne!?

p10
Alita: How...!?
Don Fua: Strongly envisioned negativity can begin to take on a life of its own.

Don Fua: Imagination is a special privelege granted to humans...
Don Fua: But it's also a double-edged sword.
Payne: Stoooop.

Don Fua: I gained the power of imagination control from my training as a Bodhisatva.
Don Fua: Imagination can even become reality, you know!!

Alita: Imagination control...

Don Fua: I'm sure you have many hardships to come, just remember...
Don Fua: Don't lose!!

p11
Alita: Ahhh!!

p12
Zazie: Is it over...?
Zazie: That was really a close call.

Zazie: Where did that monk guy go!?

Alita: He disappeared!!

Deckman: Master~!!

Alita: It looks like everyone managed to make it out in one piece!!

p13
Gerambo: What!?
Gerambo: The gravity just suddenly...!?

Computer: This is a phase 4 emergency alert.
Computer: The onion frame will now be ejected from the main body of Ketheres.

Computer: All passengers please report to the lifepods for evacuation.

p14
No Text

p15
Alita: Arthur! What the hell is going on!?
Arthur: Something extremely bad.

Arthur: Mbadi activated the forced ejection protocol.
Arthur: Because of the violent shift in weight, the orbital elevator is going to collapse!!

Addendum: Because the onion frame was a structure originally designed to house the ZOTT tournament, it was built to be able to eject from the main city in case of emergency. In this case, since Mbadi set the ejection protocol to activate automatically on destruction of the Sword of Damocles, the safety mechanisms were omitted and it now poses a threat to the orbital elevator.

p16
Text Box: Shuttle pod station
Man: The onion frame is flying off!
Man: That bastard thinks he can get away!

Man: Oof

Nova: This is...Terrible!!
Nova: Everyone grab onto something!!

p17
Kids: Eek!

Man: Huh!?
Man: A cloud!?

p18
Man: H...hey
Man: What's that!?

SFX: Whoa!
SFX: Yelp!

p19
No Text

p20
Koyomi: Owww...That's gonna leave a lump!!
Chavez: Whi~ne

Kaos: Are you ok Mr. Vector!?
Vector: Y...yeah.

Man: L...Look.
Man: No way...

Man: Tiphares is falling!!

p21
Kid: Waaaah!
Kid: Great-grandpa, are we gonna die!?

Man: Oooh...God help us!!

p22
Text Box: Skyhook: The joint between the orbital elevator and the orbital ring

Text Box: Because Tiphares' collision with the ground would put the entire orbital ring in danger...
Text Box: Melchizediek put all of its power into trying to stop the elevator's descent!

Text Box: It accelerated the superconducting fluid inside the orbital ring and used the centrifugal force to cancel out the load on the skyhook!!

Addendum: Central Computer Melchizediek is a grid system composed of many quantum servers, but because the majority of these physical servers are located on the orbital ring, the destruction of the ring would mean the destruction of Melchizediek itself.

p23
SFX: Ahh!
SFX: Unfh!

Text Box: The shift in weight also affected the orbital elevator on the opposite side of the planet.

Text Box: Indian Ocean

Text Box: The offshore factory city Graat rises out of the ocean!

p24-25
No Text

p26
Koyomi: D...
Koyomi: Did it...stop?

Text Box: Somehow, the collision of Tiphares with the surface was avoided.

Alita: Thank goodness...
Arthur: But now we have a new problem.

Arthur: The onion frame has exhausted its supply of rocket fuel and is now navigating on momentum alone.
Arthur: In 10 hours, 33 minutes it will impact the surface of the moon.

Arthur: Of course, it is easily possible to evacuate all the passengers still aboard the onion frame within that time...
Arthur: However, at the projected impact point there are several large moon colonies, including Ptolomeus.
Arthur: It would be physically impossible to evacuate the entire population in time given the capacity of their transportation systems.

Arthur: It would also be difficult to shoot down the onion frame now that the Sword of Damocles has been disabled.
Arthur: In addition, the deactivation of the unanimous system and Mbadi's actions have thrown the government into confusion, so it would not be wise to expect a speedy response from them.

Arthur: So I have a request from Melchizediek to you, Alita.

Arthur: Please use your power to save the Lunar colonies!!

p28
SFX: Ugh

SFX: huff huff

Mbadi: I'm not finished yet!!
Mbadi: I'll escape in the confusion and recover my strength for sure!!

p29
Mbadi: Eh!?

p30
Mbadi: You...bitch...

Mbadi: Caerulaaaa!!
SFX: pop
SFX: splurt

p31
Caerula: That should take care of what you owe me.
Text Box: Caerula Sanguis (Velma)

Black Text: The fallen hero Mbadi is judged by the sword and departs into the blackness of space!!

Hehehe, was just reading the other rather pushy thread about you not delivering translations.
This will show em :P
Just ignore them impatient ones...let the wait consume their souls

Finally, after almost 2 months... And with Glo 111 about to come out... Nice to have you back, dude...

p08
Mbadi: My deeds...my plans will be definitely be remembered 100, no, 1000 years from now!! // My deeds...my plans will definitely be remembered 100, no, 1000 years from now!! (Too many "be"s)

p10
Don Fua: Imagination is a special privelege granted to humans... // Imagination is a special privilege granted to humans... (Spelling)

p23
Text Box: The offshore factory city Graat rises out of the ocean! // The offshore factory city Nezher rises out of the ocean! (It's called "Nezher" in the Viz translation, and "Gurat" in the Original version)

p31
Text Box: Caerula Sanguis (Velma) // Caerula Sanguis (Vilma) (It's Vilma Fachiri to be exact)

[too long clause; actually, I don't like the construction it superheats it, so it would be better to change the pronoun by the noun it means (quasar? mechanism? accretion disk? the center friction? I am lost.]

In the original we have Zig and Gurat. VIZ renamed them as Binhar and Nezher. I believe you refer to Gurat, so it would be Nezher (for God's sake. Viz's nomenclature is revolting).

All hail!

Actually, given the release date for 111 (the 27th), I feel that the timing of this translation came at an appropriate time despite the delay.

The last episode of Bleach (for now) will also air on that date. :(

It was going to happen soon or later, since the death of Ulqiorra the story bocame so boring and the number of filler episodes was going to increase so much it would look stupid. The anime needs a deep breath... on the other hand, the manga seems to be very interesting.

Well, maybe from an European point of view. If Targa is American, "Yeah" sounds to him as an orgasmic interregnum in a porno video. :?
That said, the best alternative would certainly be "sure".

The noun is "frictions". You misplaced your comma : "(...) and as it falls towards the center, frictions superheat it (...)".
Sergio Nova wrote:Page 05
Don Fua: This is what is called karmic retribution!! [construction]
I see no problem with "This is what they call (...)".
Sergio Nova wrote:for God's sake. Viz's nomenclature is revolting
Then let's just quit using it.

Either it is friction superheats or it is frictions superheat.
Lemonlol wrote:I see no problem with "This is what they call (...)".
It seems to me that it is less accepted and also less used. As I am not exactly an expert…
Lemonlol wrote:Then let's just quit using it.
It would be a good idea if we were using it from the start. Now it would sound schizophrenic, I think.

Oops, I edited my post about the plural while you were writing your post...

I've alreay heard the "This is what they call" kind of phrase, but I'm not an expert either! For now, I'll stick to Targa's choice of words.

Once, an American friend of mine, an erudite polyglot, told me that constructions like this is what they call make more sense in Latin-derivative languages, but in English it is a sort of Latinism. In good English, you are supposed to know who they are in order to use that construction. If it is unknown, passive voice is strongly recommended. Anyway, it is also true that the real world varies from the grammatical one.

True...Even this "last episode" feels wanting and doesn't really bring closure. There is most likely going to be a break until the final arc gets along to the point that Bleach 2 will start up again.

InuYasha did this sort of thing as well, with the Final Act season coming 5 years after the original series ended.
