Yeah, I feel that way too.
Spoiler:
More soul searching before once again, Alita Saves the World. At least it's longer that the end of the original Gunnm, but that tail on the Onion Frame better have a point to it.

Then we see Ido and Figure together? So much for that memory erasure!

Spoiler:
So, she nano-fused to the onion frame, she grew wings out of it and she changet trajectory. I loved it, but it's impossible. Wings only work inside the atmosphere, in space a change of shape does not affect inertial motion. She should have grown gas jets ^^ I still loved it and i bet the nano-fusion is not permanent, she did that crap before.

You're right, but maybe Kishiro has a sort of explanation. Let's wait and see.

It says the wings are made of plasma which can generate velocity in space.

somehow it looks like some of the old ideas from the "rushed endings" are still going on.
Also it looks like Mr Kishiro is having fun drawing Gally's butt over and over.
Spoiler:
for the mini reveal in the end, it might just be a little set up to show us the old chars still exists. why are they together? well it could be simple to assume Fogia got bored and start to look for his sweetheart, and really while searching for her in the different farms ended up on Ido. Why he would follow is rather strange, however.
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see the follow up for that for several chapters, if not volumes.

Afraid I had to register to help people understand a bit faster... :geek:

Umm... massive spoilers below so I'll use the tag and hope it works. First time using that sort of thing.
Spoiler:
The wings, it says, are made of plasma, which would act as jets to change the direction.

Arthur actually states that her current body is made of up her brain chip, the fanta morgana, the wormhole reactor, and the Imaginos body. It is only all working together because of the chip brain. With her original brain she could not fuse with the Fanta Morgana which would lead to her losing control of the body and thus the blackhole reactor -> bad things result.

Much of the worrying is concern about what exactly she is. If she is not in possession of her original brain then does she have a soul? Is a it a copy of the original? Is it maintained because the original exists somewhere? If she regained her original brain, is there a soul that has been sleeping there? Would she effectively be killing another one of her if she recombined?

In the end she decides to stay as a chip and to act as a "spy" for Arthur and the other computer. I can't quite pick out why she is a "spy" but I can see that word in the wall of text. In exchange they agree to help her and rebuild her body that Toji destroyed. Something about screwing with their ability to predict the future and letting them avoid things they don't want to have happen using her? She spends 3 days worth of time, actual time elapsed 3 minutes, to come to her decision.

They name her their secret agent: LAST ORDER

After changing the direction of the Orion frame no one was able to find her body.

interesting.
Spoiler:
so maybe we're gonna focus on the "original" brain again? would make for some nice reunification moment with fogia and ido, and a "fresh" new start, power level wise. I'd love to see Ido and fogia tagging along to mars, too. I'm sure the 3 of them together would have great chemistry.

Please read the answer!!
Spoiler:
I'm sorry but that's not true. Actually in space, having wings make the same sense that on earth because of two main points: The first is that you don't have to fight with so much forces to accelerate. There is no gravity nor friction of the atmosphere. Second, you totally miss a very interesting principle: the radiation pressure. This is due to the pressure applied to any surface by the radiations created mostly by the sun in our solar system. This pressure of course increases as the surface increases. That's how, for example, some of spacescraft are designed with some kind of huge kites to push them. Of course as far as you go from the radiation source, the less force will be applied to your wings.

But indeed, here it seems to be plasma wings that can eject matter and then make you move.

two ideas :
- dissolving the wings into plasma
- solar sail

So there will likely be a rebirth (again) in a new or reconstituted body. Probably not as a flesh and blood human since that doesn't work so well in space. However given the capabilities of the Imaginos x.0 it could probably be done as a matter of will, just for Figure, if YK circles back around again to the original ending. It's interesting that he is recycling some of the elements since he was not able to end Gunnm like he wanted to, thus the redo ending that is LO.
