A more fitting translation would be Rennausrüstung ( racing equipment ) instead of Wettausrüstung ( betting equipment ).Burning Angel wrote:And, according to Cailon, Gehirn Umbau is a mistranslation of Gehirnumbau (brain alteration/modification). Pitch Black
Re: Alita Glossary -> Gone WIKI :)
Wettausrustung can also mean competition gears. So it can also be fitting in my sens.
There's one think I was always wondering: It's about the technic called "Hertza Haeon". Can this be translated as Herz (Heart) or hertz the (frecancy unit) and hauen who means to strick in german. So a fitting translation would be Hertz hauen (to strick with vibration) or Herz hauen (to strick heart).
In my opinion both are good since this strick is emmiting a vibration and also it's a strick which is aimed at the heart (through the armor)

Oh, "Rennausrüstung" is also nice, true. Though of course "Wett-" in sports isn't necessarily connected to betting. Maybe our term originated from sports as a betting event? Don't know
@ Menath: It's as always just a guess but I think that Hertza Haeon means "Hertz erhöhen" (to increase Hertz).

Re: Alita Glossary -> Gone WIKI :)
Thanks!
Very cool.
I've read the new entries, here are my suggestions:
You could also add:
- "exo arms" (Zazie vs. Rakan)
- "Rat slaying the cat" - Tojis finishing move on Alita, v16, page 35
And maybe edit:
- "Europa" (vol. 11, page 104 indicates that it's a farming-planet or something... )
- "Uruk Sulcus" (while I'm at this page---) you could add that at Uruk Sulcus a (the?) Robot City is located
- "Operation Black Cat": I understood it was only "Operation Glass Cat" in which they gave the codename "Black Cat" to Alita.

Re: Alita Glossary -> Gone WIKI :)
I found this while I was looking for those nice action figures kuroro was talking about:
http://www.google.co.jp/imgres?sa=X&biw ... t=0&ndsp=9
Could be interesting to put that (if it's not already the case) in the wiki as an inspiration from Yukito. It apparently comes from Frank miller's Elektra lives again
